The Blood and Wine expansion of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has multiple story paths within its narrative, and those who stick to a particular route might miss acquiring a location-exclusive collection of armor known as the Hen Gaidth Armor Set. This six-piece Relic heavy armor set offers a substantial amount of Armor points to bolster Geralt's Armor Stat rating significantly. With the multiple types of damage resistance this set offers, Hen Gaidth Armor also provides a passive vampiric-like effect that restores Vitality whenever Geralt slays an enemy. While such a perk might be less useful in boss battles or single-target counters, the Hen Gaidth Armor will substantially increase players' survivability when dealing with hordes of monsters.
Similar to the Toussaint Relic Armor Set in The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine, the Hen Gaidth Armor Set can only be acquired during a specific mission during the expansion's main questline. More specifically, it is possible to completely miss this armor set if players choose to accompany Sylvia during "Beyond Hill and Dale..." the quest that transports Geralt into the Land of a Thousand Fables. Conversely, the Hen Gaidth Armor Set is acquired during the quest, "What Lies Unseen."
Finding the Hen Gaidth Set in The Witcher 3
Based on findings by content creator GosuNoob, all pieces of the Hen Gaidth Armor Set can be found within the complex cave system of the Unseen Elder's Lair during "What Lies Unseen" of The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine. First, to get the Gauntlets and Steel Sword, players must swim through the flooded tunnels of the underground den.
Once players reach the exit of the watery tunnels, they will find a chest containing the set's powerful Steel Sword and Gauntlets nearby the hole exit. The next parts of the set can be found after Geralt is sent down to the lower sections of the cave following the first encounter with the Elder.
The Mask and Trousers of the Hen Gaidth Armor Set in The Witcher 3 can be found by investigating the tunnel pathway lit by glowworms hanging from the ceiling. The path will eventually lead to a dead-end alcove with a chest containing the armor pieces. Finally, after reaching the area where the walkway defies gravity, players must check the tower-style structure on the inverted floor and loot the chest to get the Chest Armor and Boots. Collecting the loot from this last chest will complete players' search for the Hen Gaidth Armor Set in The Witcher 3.
