Winter House's Austen Kroll is opening up about his unexpected love triangle with his costars Ciara Miller and Lindsay Hubbard. Viewers heard about the new Southern Charm and Summer House crossover series last winter when the cast began filming at a lodge in Vermont. After the cast completed filming after a few weeks, a number of news outlets reported different romances that came from the show, with one including Austen.

The reality star used his time wisely in the house as he had recently been through a breakup a few months before. Austen and Southern Charm costar Madison LeCroy announced their break-up in December 2020 after almost three years of dating. The former couple hashed it out at the reunion, with fellow costar Craig Conover spilling the beans that Madison had an affair with Alex "A-Rod" Rodriguez shortly after the couple broke up. Now it seems Austen was able to move quite quickly.

In an exclusive interview with E! News, the 34-year-old spoke about his unexpected love triangle with Ciara and Lindsay, which was shown in the first Winter House trailer. "You show up to the house, and I'm really just looking to have fun and to get away from Charleston really and to have fun with my friends in the mountains," Austen, who reacted to Madison's engagement, said to the publication. Austen admitted that he and Ciara did "pretty quickly hit it off" when they first arrived at the wintery lodge. "I was just attracted to her, of course [...] The fact that I could make her laugh on command is key," he confessed. However, his relationship with Ciara gets complicated after his friend of many years, Lindsay starts to express interest in him. In the Winter House teaser, fans saw Lindsay not only admit to Austen that she has feelings for him but that she's in love with him.

"Lindsay and I have been friends for like the past four years. And we're great friends in fact," Austen, who was spotted with Kristin Cavallari, explained. "I was like, ‘Hey, if everything turns sideways, at least I have Linds.' And she felt that same way about me." The pair were friends way before they began filming the crossover and even discussed their past relationships with one another. Austen was mainly looking to lean on Lindsay as a friend, and now it seems as though it became something more. After she dropped the L-bomb on him, Austen was shocked, not expecting that kind of revelation from his good friend of four years. While he did not share if he said the sentiment back, he did clarify that he left the house on good terms with everyone. Austen, who was shaded by Madison online, also added that he is currently single and dating around.

Viewers will have to wait for Winter House season 1 to progress to see how this love triangle between Austen, Ciara, and Lindsay plays out. Whether or not he picks one of them in the end, it seems as though the relationship didn't last long since Austen is still single.
