The 2023 horror movie Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey ending sees Pooh Bear and Piglet slaughter unsuspecting humans, leading to a brutal cliffhanger with Christopher Robin. Following A.A. Milne’s original Winnie-the-Pooh book entering the public domain, filmmaker Rhys Frake-Waterfield decided to adapt the beloved children’s characters into disturbingly feral serial killers. In Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, Pooh Bear and Piglet have turned into homicidal killers after being abandoned by Christopher Robin, leading to a deadly path of vengeance against any human entering the Hundred Acre Wood.

When Christopher Robin returns to the area after several years, the consequences are disastrous. After killing the majority of Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey’s characters, Pooh and Piglet track down any survivors while continuing to target Christopher Robin. College student Alice is able to restrain Piglet in chains and fatally smashes his head with a sledgehammer, though Pooh quickly arrives to brutally impale her. Pooh then kills four local men, decapitates Jess, and kills Maria after Christopher begs Pooh to spare her. In the Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey ending, Christopher Robin runs away while Pooh repeatedly stabs Maria.

How Did Pooh Survive THAT?! Is He Invincible?

A montage of Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey and Michael Myers.

Christopher Robin and Maria are nearly able to kill Pooh before Blood and Honey’s credits roll, but the half-human half-bear hybrid inexplicably manages to survive. Christopher crushes Pooh between two cars, which also causes the area to be surrounded by flames. While this development appears to bring an end to the killer bear’s terror, Pooh miraculously pushes himself free from the cars and begins attacking Maria and Christopher yet again. Considering Piglet seemingly died from being hit in the head by a sledgehammer, Pooh’s survival in the Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey ending is shocking.

The Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey ending suggests the non-Disney Pooh Bear is somewhat supernatural, with inhuman strength and invincibility that reflects the natures of classic indestructible horror villains like Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees. Pooh even took a crowbar to the face and shook it off as if he had barely been touched, which means he can likely only be taken down by a figure as strong and supernatural as himself. Considering Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey’s director Rhys Frake-Waterfield is intending to form a cinematic universe with horror adaptations of children’s stories, Pooh also isn’t likely to die in the upcoming sequel.

Did Christopher Robin Survive Blood & Honey’s Ending?

Christopher Robin in Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey.

Christopher Robin’s fate is left ambiguous in the ambiguous Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey ending. After Pooh fatally stabs Maria, Christopher Robin runs away and Pooh isn’t seen chasing after him. It’s likely that Christopher was able to escape the Hundred Acre Wood by finding the nearby car garage or potentially flagging down locals to help him flee the area. The Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey ending indicates Christopher Robin may have survived his first reunion with the characters Pooh Bear and Piglet, but the animals will continue seeking revenge on him for his abandonment until a final fatal confrontation. Christopher Robin should return to Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2.

Is Piglet Really Dead? What His Fate Means For Pooh

Piglet in Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey.

Although Pooh Bear exhibits supernaturally invincible qualities, Piglet doesn’t appear to have the same inhuman strength. After Piglet killed Zoe with a sledgehammer, Alice took revenge on him by using his own weapon against him. Piglet was repeatedly hit in the face with the sledgehammer, with the half-human half-pig hybrid seemingly letting out his last few cries of agony before dying. Considering Pooh arrives to find Piglet motionless and unresponsive, the 2023 horror movie suggests that Pooh’s accomplice has died, which is why his cruelties become even more gruesome in the film’s final moments.

Piglet’s death will have a massive impact on Pooh’s brutalities in Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2. While it was Alice who killed the monstrous children’s book character, Pooh will inevitably blame Piglet’s death on Christopher Robin, the primary source of his anger. This will make Pooh’s homicidal intentions for Christopher Robin even worse in the sequel as he now seeks to avenge the death of Piglet. However, since the full extent of Pooh Bear’s supernatural ability is unclear, it’s possible that he could find a way to bring Piglet back to life in the sequel, leading Christopher Robin to face the supernatural undead.

Why Pooh Finally Speaks In Blood & Honey’s Ending (& What It Means)

Winnie the Pooh with blood running down his face from Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey

After Christopher Robin abandoned Pooh, Piglet, Owl, Rabbit, and Eeyore, the forest animals were forced to fend for themselves and nearly starved to death. Pooh decided that the animals would have to eat Eeyore, a despicable act that led the original public domain Winnie-the-Pooh characters to completely abandon their humanity, resort to a feral animalistic state, and vow to never speak again. Only speaking in mumbles and animal noises throughout the vast majority of Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, Pooh Bear finally utters one line in the movie’s final scene.

As Christopher Robin pleads for Pooh to spare Maria and take him instead, Pooh rejects his offer and says “You left.” The alarming words are followed by Pooh killing Maria, meaning there is nothing that Christopher Robin can do to stop the chaos, nor can he make up for his abandonment – the damage is already done. Pooh vowed to never speak again after Christopher Robin left, so he makes an exception to finally use his voice once more to explain to Christopher that he’s the reason for these tragedies. Consequently, Pooh’s single line in the Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey ending is extremely haunting and threatening. Christopher Robin will never be safe.

How Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood & Honey’s Ending Sets Up The Sequel

Christopher Robin and Pooh Bear’s survival set up another confrontation in the upcoming sequel, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2. The biggest difference between the two movies is that the sequel is expected to have a bigger budget, despite poor reviews for Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey. It is also ready to start shooting in late 2023 (via Collider) as the story continues on from the events of the Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey ending. This means Christopher Robin is on the run, likely living with the nightmares of what his old friend Pooh did, and at the same time realizing that the now demonic bear is coming for more.

That isn't all, as the movie will also see more films in the shared universe of these now public-domain characters. Bambi: The Reckoning and Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare are also coming from director Rhys Frake-Waterfield. However, while Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 is prepared to start filming, there is no word on what the story will deal with this time. Either Pooh will leave the Hundred Acre Wood and find where Christopher Robin went, or Robin will return, possibly with help, to seek revenge against Winnie the Pooh after his reign of terror killed all his friends.
