Warning: SPOILERS for Moon Knight episode 6!

Oscar Isaac's Moon Knight character is now officially part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but his future in movies and TV shows is unclear. Thanks to Disney+, Marvel Studios now has another avenue to tell origin stories for new heroes. Phase 4 has seen the movies introduce Shang-Chi and Eternals in solo films, but Moon Knight got the TV treatment like She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel. Making Moon Knight a Disney+ series gave Marvel Studios plenty of time to explore the MCU's newest superhero, his disassociative identity disorder, origin, powers, and more.

The main story of Moon Knight revolves around the identities of Marc Spector and Steven Grant as they go on a globe-trotting mission to stop Arthur Harrow (Ethan Hawke) from releasing Ammit. The first two episodes focused on Steven learning the truth about Marc, and the next two took place in Egypt as the search for Ammit's tomb continued. Moon Knight's final two episodes, though, explored Marc Spector's past and how he became Moon Knight, allowing the finale to bring him back from the dead to fight Harrow. The end result was an action-packed Moon Knight ending that left the door open for more adventures.

Now that the six-episode TV show is concluded, there is a growing question about if Moon Knight will get a movie next. Marvel Studios has yet to announce any future plans for Moon Knight. The finale's post-credits scene set up that his story is not over, but that could mean a season 2 announcement is on the way. Even though there is no official movement on a Moon Knight movie, the show's head writer Jeremy Slater has expressed interest in writing one before. Perhaps he'll get the opportunity to do it, just like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier's Malcolm Spellman was hired to write Captain America 4 after his finale. But, a Moon Knight movie is not currently in development.

Which MCU Movies & Shows Moon Knight Could Return In

Moon Knight making Blade MCU debut easier

Moon Knight's MCU story could continue with more standalone adventures, but he might also now begin the journey of becoming integrated with the larger universe. Moon Knight didn't feature many MCU connections, which was a refreshing change of pace for Marvel Studios. However, Oscar Isaac's superhero will surely become a bigger part of the shared universe now that his origin story has been told. Blade is one of the top destinations for Moon Knight to return in, as their shared connections to the supernatural side of the MCU could draw them together. Otherwise, the confirmed MCU movies don't offer many natural opportunities for Moon Knight to appear.

Since Moon Knight begins his MCU journey on Disney+, that might be where his more immediate future lies. Rumors about Werewolf by Night appearing in Moon Knight proved to be inaccurate, but the Halloween Special starring the character could feature Oscar Isaac's character for a cameo. Since Marc and Steven are now living out of London again, they could also happen to stumble upon the events of Secret Invasion. It's also been revealed Maya Lopez was almost in the series, so perhaps Moon Knight returns in Echo surprisingly. The truth is that Moon Knight doesn't specifically set up his MCU future, so his next appearance could also be unexpected.
