Here's a quick guide to the cast and characters of NBC's beloved sitcom Will & Grace. The first season of Will & Grace arrived in 1998 and follows the friendship and personal dramas of the title duo. The chemistry of the cast and the sharp writing saw it become a major success, and it ranks alongside shows like Friends as one of the most popular sitcoms of its era. The show also attracted some impressive guest stars, including Kevin Bacon, Madonna, Tim Curry, Elton John, and Jennifer Lopez (Hustlers).

The original series of Will & Grace came to a close in 2006 after eight seasons and ended on something of a bittersweet note. After the cast performed a one-off sketch in 2016 it proved so popular that NBC soon greenlit a whole new season. Season 9 arrived in 2017 and ignored the events of "The Finale" to find the characters older, but not that much wiser. The revival has been popular with fans and is set to come to an end with the upcoming eleventh season.

Eric McCormack - Will Truman

Eric McCormack plays Will, a gay lawyer who met Grace in college and they soon became roommates and best friends. Will is the more uptight member of the duo and likes to be organized, so he can be something of a control freak. That said, he seems to be the one everyone turns too for emotional support. He's also a huge Barry Manilow and Jennifer Lopez fan.

Debra Messing - Grace Adler

Grace is an interior decorator who owns her own company. While Grace is considered the more neurotic of the title characters, she's also got a big heart. She and Will are very close, to the point romantic partners for either - like Grace's ex-husband Leo - state that dating one means dating the other. Grace is also very fond of food and has been noted for her unusual strength.

Megan Mullally - Karen Walker

Megan Mullally (Parks & Rec) is Karen, Grace's assistant and a total Will & Grace fan favorite. Karen is quick with insults, is very fond of alcohol, and is prone to making outrageous statements. That said, her softer side can be seen throughout the series, such as her heartbreak over the death of best friend and maid Rosario.

Sean Hayes - Jack McFarland

Jack is Will's OTHER best friend on Will & Grace, and whereas Will can be somewhat low-key about his sexuality, Jack has no trouble flaunting his gayness. He's also close with Karen and his worked an insane number of jobs over the course of the show, including acting and being a dancer for Jennifer Lopez.
