Growing up in a conservative Christian household, Micah and his siblings had to follow strict rules, which is evident throughout Welcome to Plathville. The expectations that Kim and Barry Plath had set for their kids not only limited their consumption of sugar and television but their social interactions as well. The Plath kids did not have the opportunity to make friends or go on dates. They were taught that dating should only be seriously considered if it was going to lead to marriage. Now that Micah is living on his own in LA, he is paving his own way and living life the way he wants. He is taking the time to go on dates and have fun without the promise of a long-term commitment or marriage.

Seeing the relationship struggles in his family, like his parent's divorce, Moriah Plath’s recent breakup with Max Kallschmidt, and the difficulties his Ethan and Olivia Plath are going through, has made Micah realize he's in no rush to find the one. Don’t worry about a soulmate at this point in your life.” His adventurous spirit and fun personality have captured the hearts of fans, and, of course, Micah's charming personality and successful modeling career have gained him a lot of attention as well.
The overwhelming response to his Instagram post shows that Micah doesn’t have any problems when it comes to finding a date. However, he is looking for something meaningful, and he is still searching.
