The Selling Sunset alum Christine Quinn was noticeably absent from the MTV Movie & TV Awards, and the star was reportedly disinvited from the event. Christine distanced herself from the show and its cast after Season 5's messy ending. After she was accused of bribing a client, the show's reigning villain continued to diss her The Oppenheim Group colleagues. Once she was removed from the West Hollywood real estate agency, Christine directed her anger at the show's creator, Adam DiVello, whom she accused of mistreating her.

After watching the cliffhanger at the end of Season 5, fans were already questioning Christine's status with the show. She was on the outs with the agency after Emma Hernan revealed the alleged bribe that Christine made to a mutual client, in an attempt to steal her away from Emma. When Jason and Brett Oppenheim tried to schedule a meeting with Christine, she was a no-show. She went on to skip the first-ever reunion, which highlighted just how "done" she was with the office. Eventually, she was removed from the company website, and it was soon confirmed that she was no longer working with the Oppenheim brothers. In response, Christine claimed that she was opening her own brokerage.

Christine formerly had every opportunity to return to the series, since she is a leading cast member who helped to make the show a success. However, she seemingly burned that bridge after speaking out against the show's executive producer, Adam DiVello. “There’s been complaints filed against him. Multiple complaints … and it’s been sick,” Christine said on the Call Her Daddy podcast last month. She added, “He actually told me to go fall down the stairs and kill myself at one point.” Fast forward to the MTV Awards on Sunday, when the show took home the award show's highest honor by winning Best Docu-Reality Series. DiVello took to the stage to accept the award, which might explain why Christine was reportedly "disinvited" from attending the televised event. "This decision didn’t come from MTV. It came from Netflix/production,” a source told Page Six.

Insiders believe that the cast and crew knew ahead of time that they were going to win the award, and that DiVello would accept the honor. It made sense for Christine not to come along, since she has negative feelings about the creator. This seems to highlight how Christine could be alienating herself from the group. She already managed to offend almost every member of the cast, and fall out with the only friends that she had left on the show. Fans were expecting her to return to the show, and possibly secure her own spin-off. However, after she made shocking claims against the executive producer, she might never return.

With Christine's fate up in the air, Selling Sunset fans are wondering what will become of her reality TV career. She doesn't exactly have a lot of friends on the show, and has managed to upset the show's creator. While some fans thought that Christine was hamming it up for the show, she is seemingly playing the villain role on and offscreen. Getting disinvited from an award show might be the final nail in the coffin of Christine's time with the Netflix series. Hopefully, she can mend fences and make a return.
