Although many fans would love to see it, Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola won't likely return to television for Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. Sammi was one of the initial eight roommates throughout the original series of Jersey Shore. At the peak of the cast’s fame, she was best known for her toxic on-again-off-again relationship with costar Ronnie Ortiz Magro. While the relationship lasted throughout the entire duration of the series, Sammi and Ronnie ultimately called it quits after the finale aired. When asked to reunite with her former roommates for the spin-off series, Sammi turned down the opportunity in an effort to avoid any more drama with her ex.
While Sammi chose not to return, Ronnie ultimately did. In 2021, Ronnie stepped away from Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. This decision was made after he was arrested in his Los Angeles home for a domestic violence incident involving his now-ex Saffire Mattos. The cops were called to the home when an argument between the couple turned physical. Ronnie remained quiet after the arrest before finally announcing he would not be returning to the show. The decision was made in an effort to focus more on bettering his mental health. Although Ronnie never confirmed the decision would be permanent, he has yet to return to the show almost two years later.
Sammi Lives A Completely Different Life Than She Did On Jersey Shore
Since Ronnie is seemingly never returning to filming, fans feel that this is the perfect opportunity for Sammi to make her Jersey Shore return; however, that is quite unlikely. Sammi, who now runs her own business, has kept her life out of the spotlight since Jersey Shore came to an end 10 years ago. The former reality TV star enjoys living a more private and down-to-earth lifestyle than she once did. In addition to this, it has never been confirmed that Ronnie is permanently gone from the show. Because of this, Sammi most likely does not want to risk running into her toxic ex yet again.
Despite all the valid reasons for Sammi to not want to return to filming alongside her former roommates, there are also some reasons why she should return. Many Jersey Shore fans would love to see her on their TV screens every week once again. In fact, fans have wanted Sammi to do a Tell-All in which she could spill all the Jersey Shore tea. Sammi would also add a fun, new flare to the show. It is unclear how long Sammi has gone without seeing the rest of the cast. It would be nice for Jersey Shore fans to see a long-awaited reunion with Sammi.
Although it would be fun to see Sammi rejoin the group so many years later, it unfortunately will likely never happen. Sammi repeatedly shut down past rumors of her potentially joining the roomies for Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. At the end of the day, Sammi has moved on and is now living a completely new life from the one she had when filming for the original show. While she would not be filming alongside Ronnie, the possibility of being brought back into a toxic environment is not a risk Sammi is willing to take.
