Gizelle Bryant and Ashley Darby are under fire with The Real Housewives of Potomac fans, after fueling suspicion about Candiace Dillard's husband, Chris Bassett. The season 7 premiere gave fans an update on the returning season 6 cast, and the lingering feuds. Candiace and Ashley have a long history of battling it out on the show, over their marriages and lifestyles. However, this time around, Ashley's husband Michael Darby isn't the one under a microscope.A preview of the new season reveals Gizelle and Ashley's suspicions about Chris' private messages to the women. Queens of Bravo posted the clip at Twitter. It shows Robyn Dixon's separate sit-downs with Gizelle and Ashley, where they both revealed Chris' IG DMs, which they found inappropriate. Hat entrepreneur Robyn was quick to defend Chris, and shut down Gizelle and Ashley's misgivings. Many fans agreed with Robyn, calling Gizelle and Ashley out for seemingly being the only ones trying to portray Chris as a cheater. "I'm with Robyn on this one," one person said, in response to the clip. "Yeah he was just being friendly," added someone else. One viewer explained their belief that Chris was just "on break" when he saw Ashley's Instagram Story video, and decided to respond.
RHOP's Ashley and Gizelle Think Chris is After Them
Considering Ashley's history on the show, she is no stranger to scandals with husbands in hotel rooms. That's why fans are calling her out for being suspicious of Chris, who has never been named in any cheating scandals. "Ashley didn’t give this much thought to HER husband in a hotel room with another woman," one fan quipped, in response to the clip. "I can’t stand women like Ashley and Gizelle. Everyone does not want you," another person added. Ashley was the first to express her concern, after Chris sent her a DM, where he invited her to the Hotel Washington rooftop bar that he manages. When Gizelle learned of Ashley's suspicion, she agreed, and claimed that Chris also messaged her in a way that made her label him a "sneaky link."
However, Robyn defended Chris, and explained why she would never expect him to step out on Candiace with one of her friends. Nonetheless, Gizelle and Ashley's guards are up, and they think that Chris from RHOP could be guilty of having prying eyes, or more. As the new drama plays out, viewers are becoming more convinced that Ashley and Gizelle are the problem. Gizelle is known for stirring the pot on the show, especially when it involves someone's husband. Past seasons have seen Gizelle mock Karen and Ray Huger for Ray's financial woes, question Robyn about Juan Dixon, and happily gossip about Ashley's husband, Michael.
Ashley, on the other hand, has been the talk of the town because of her husband's questionable behavior. Ashley and Gizelle's history of being cheated on, and then triggering drama, has viewers under the impression that they're bitter, and quick to attack other marriages. The Real Housewives of Potomac fans are just as outspoken as the cast, and right now, Gizelle and Ashley are in the hot seat, due to fueling suspicions about Chris. As Candiace's season 7 feud with Gizelle plays out, it's clear that many fans are already siding with Candiace and Chris. It won't be so easy for Gizelle to defend her "reasonably shady" behavior this time around.
