Fans of the Real Housewives franchise are slamming The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Rinna for being the villain of the show, and they’re comparing her to The Real Housewives of New York City star, Ramona Singer. Lisa joined RHOBH in season 5, and was unafraid to bring the drama by calling out the other housewives. Fans remember the infamous “Munchhausen syndrome” saga that had RHOBH stars questioning Yolanda Hadid’s health issues. Lisa was also in the middle of a back and forth with former RHOBH star Kim Richards, which resulted in glass being broken during an Amsterdam trip.
The Real Housewives of New York City star Ramona is also often in the middle of drama, which is usually caused by her clueless behavior. Many fans have called her out for acting selfish and entitled, such as rushing to snag the best room during cast trips. Ramona has also been criticized for her treatment of staff members, as she's known for bossing them around and calling them by the wrong names. RHONY star Eboni K. Williams was horrified to hear Ramona calling her staff, “the help” on the show, and had to explain to her why it was wrong.
Real Housewives fan LemonPepperGate asked on Reddit, “Is Lisa Rinna or Ramona Singer a more egregiously despicable housewife in your eyes?” Many fans thought Rinna was the worst for appearing to manufacture storylines, and throwing her friends under the bus. Scramasboy wrote, “Rinna. Ramona, even being as insane as she is, is sort of naturally that way. It isn’t purposeful, she just IS a monster. Rinna, on the other hand, is manufactured. She is purposely a monster…It makes it worse in my mind because Ramona is just your crazy racist grandma while Rinna is your evil stepmother trying to ruin your life.”
Other fans think that Ramona is the more shameless housewife. Many viewers characterize Ramona as “racist and rude.” During RHONY season 13, newcomer Eboni K. Williams tried to bring racial awareness to the show, which Ramona attempted to tune out. During Eboni’s “Black Shabbat” dinner, Ramona kept making racially insensitive comments that left her RHONY castmates mortified. Jellybean1818 commented, “Ramona is the worst. She is self absorbed, classist, rude, and she literally POOPS on the floor (and doesn’t bother to clean it up). At least Rinna wears Depends.”
Real Housewives fans seem to be divided in terms of whether Lisa or Ramona is the more obnoxious housewife. However, they do seem to be on the same page about their reasons for disliking both women. Many agree that Lisa is a pot-stirrer who creates drama for storylines. While Ramona isn’t as calculated as Lisa, fans think she’s blatantly racist and selfish, with no redeeming qualities. Lisa and Ramona are two of the most disliked Real Housewives stars, but fans all agree that they make for good television.
