Love Is Blind has captivated audiences since Netflix introduced the series in 2020, but after three seasons and dozens of failed relationships, it's time for the show to provide its contestants with marriage counselors. Love Is Blind, like TLC's long-running series Married at First Sight, features brand-new couples who only have a matter of weeks to decide whether they should be married, or separate. While MAFS has used matchmakers and relationship experts to guide its cast members since its first season, LIB hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey take a backseat, and offer simple commentary before each reunion.

Although Love Is Blind has entertained viewers for three seasons, viewers have called the series a failed social experiment due to its abysmal track record. While several couples have tied the knot at the end of each season, only four couples across the entire series are still together as of November 2022: fan favorites Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton, Amber Pike and Matt Barnett, Alexa Alfia and Brennon Lemieux, and Colleen Reed and Matt Bolton. After Love Is Blind season 3, and the amount of drama that has occurred off-camera between former couples like Raven Ross and SK Alagbada, it's more evident than ever that Netflix has a duty to finally introduce marriage counselors.

Many Love Is Blind Couples Need Help From A Third Party

It's not easy to be thrust into the limelight, but it's even harder to form, and keep, a long-lasting connection with someone that is more or less a stranger. This is exemplified by almost every couple on Love Is Blind. While many contestants, including Natalie Lee and Shayne Jansen from Love Is Blind season 2, hit it off in the pods, their engagements quickly unraveled when they attempted to integrate their lives. The introduction of marriage counselors on the popular series would help duos with clear communication issues, such as Zanab Jaffrey and Cole Barnett (their "cuties" scene is infamous), to overcome their differences. In addition, a third party could assist in heated debates over fundamental differences, such as Nancy Rodriguez and Bartise Bowden's intensely-awkward abortion discussion.

Every Love Is Blind Couple Would Benefit From Therapy

While every Love Is Blind couple would collectively benefit from a marriage counselor, it's imperative that each contestant receive individual attention in therapy. Although some of the show's stars over the years have attempted to be good partners, there have been several celebs with tough or traumatic backgrounds. They've found it hard to fully embrace their engagements. Deepti Vempati from Love Is Blind season 2, and Zanab from season 3, both appeared to have self-esteem and confidence issues, which could have been addressed on their respective installments. For example, Matt, who threatened to leave Colleen several times, should have been given the opportunity to explore the obvious effects of his last marriage on his new relationship.

Will Marriage Counselors Appear On Love Is Blind Season 4?

Netflix has wasted no time when it comes to future Love Is Blind seasons, as Love Is Blind was renewed through season 5 in early 2022. Although each season takes about eight weeks to film, season 3 was filmed directly after the second installment. This tight schedule was replicated for Love Is Blind season 4, which Nick revealed was already in post-production in October. Although Netflix would satisfy many viewers with the introduction of marriage therapists, as well as the removal of Nick and Vanessa as hosts, it's highly improbable that the fourth installment will feature these necessary sessions. When it comes to Love Is Blind and Married at First Sight, both shows have their fair share of critics, but there's no doubt that Married at First Sight has the right idea, in terms of mandating therapy.
