The first trailer for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law shows Abomination in his human form. Despite his latest appearance in the MCU's first She-Hulk trailer, Abomination was first introduced all the way back in The Incredible Hulk. In that movie, special forces operative Emil Blonsky, played by Tim Roth, was injected with a new version of Super Soldier Serum and later Bruce Banner's blood. The injections transformed Emil into the uncontrollable Abomination, and he has not made any other human appearances in the MCU until She-Hulk.

In the comics, Emil was unable to transform back into his human form after becoming the Abomination. This lines up with Abomination's past two appearances. He appeared in the third act of The Incredible Hulk and a redesigned Abomination was also in Shang-Chi, remaining in his monstrous form. Yet, Tim Roth is back in Emil's human form in the She-Hulk trailer, which raises a lot of questions about the character as well as the timeline of the Disney+ series.

Roth's return to the human form of Emil Blonsky in the She-Hulk trailer could mean that Emil Blonsky gains the ability to transform between human and creature just like Bruce Banner and Jennifer Walters. It's currently unclear when exactly the series takes place on the MCU timeline, but several details suggest it occurs before Avengers: Endgame — Emil is still in custody, as he was at the end of The Incredible Hulk; Bruce's arm does not yet have the injury he received in Endgame, and he's still Smart Hulk; in Shang-Chi's post-credits scene, he was revealed back in Bruce Banner form. If that's indeed the case, then Emil has not lost the ability to become Abomination. It's possible that during Bruce and Jennifer's studies together on her She-Hulk transformation, they seek out the only other person they know who was affected by Bruce's blood in Emil Blonsky. Together, the three of them might discover a way for Emil to transform between human and creature as well.

Many viewers were surprised, and a little confused, by his appearance in Shang-Chi, especially since he appeared to be working with Wong in the movie. The confirmation that Wong will also be appearing in She-Hulk guarantees that viewers will get some answers about the relationship between these two seemingly very different individuals. The She-Hulk series may also shed some more light on what life was like for ordinary people during the Blip, since one popular theory suggests the Disney+ show takes place during that span of five years between Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. The MCU so far has not lingered too long on this time period, despite its important repercussions on so many of the characters. She-Hulk may finally change that.

Emil Blonsky's appearance in the She-Hulk trailer raises some interesting questions about Abomination and what he has been up to since The Incredible Hulk. Bringing him into this Hulk-centric show can also bring some closure to unresolved storylines from that origin movie, while at the same time providing a solid foundation for Jennifer Walters' introduction to the MCU. Hopefully, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law can finally give Hulk's nemesis the attention he's been missing for quite some time.
