The Silva sisters were catapulted into fame by 90 Day Fiancé. Since then, the twins have been through relationship drama both on-screen and off which landed them their own show, Darcey & Stacey. TLC fans have noticed that the reality TV stars have a preference for younger, foreign men. And though the Darcey & Stacey leads have jokingly revealed what attracts them to international lovers, they’re now confessing why their type is “half my age.”

Forty-five-year-old Darcey & Stacey Silva have seen tons of ups and downs when it comes to relationships. Both the Middleton, Connecticut, moms have led fairly similar lives when it came to growing up and finding love. The Silvas got married at the same time, had children at the same time, and even got divorced together. But while Darcey and Stacey’s married lives were not rosy, their dating lives as documented by 90 Day Fiancé, have been much worse. The twins found love overseas on social media with men who were quite younger than them But Darcey suffered major heartbreak when both Jesse Meester and Tom Brooks let her down on national TV. Stacey, who seemingly was happier still with her boyfriend of five years Florian Sukaj, came across pictures of him in another woman’s arms on Instagram. Their stories of heartbreak and search for happiness got Darcey & Stacey the new 90 Day Fiancé spin-off and both are currently seen starting life anew with Georgi Rusev and Florian. Yet, their preferences of age when choosing partners have always struck TLC fans as odd. And the Darcey & Stacey stars are now trying to clear the air.

The Darcey & Stacey stars showed up on The Sarah Fraser Show, where they discussed their spicy love lives. When the podcast host asked them if they get called out by 90 Day Fiancé viewers for only dating younger guys, Darcey replied that, although they do get trashed they also have some amazing fans that have been following their TLC journey. The Silvas were then asked if their kids ever have problems with them dating younger men, who sometimes might be closer to their ages, Darcey confessed, “I think the girls realize that we’re young at heart, we’re like the cool young like-minded moms. We’re stylish and we have that young sense of life too.” The Darcey & Stacey celeb continued, “We want to be able to do so many things and stay in power. We don’t want to feel like we’re sitting around doing nothing. We started at 35 being stay-at-home moms and then we just rose above.” Darcey added, “We were late bloomers in that sense. I know the girls are kind of like, ‘Wish mom would date someone older like some CEO or something,’ but they know it’s not going to happen.”

Darcey and Stacey shared, “It’s the connection. For me, it’s not about the ages. If the person I like is in their 40’s or 50’s I don’t care it’s great. But it happens that they’re always in their 30’s or another country." The twins had earlier joked about taking after their father Mike Silva, who’s currently engaged to a younger Chinese woman, when they go looking for love internationally. But, after all, age is just a number when it comes to love, and hopefully, Darcey and Stacey will find their ever afters in current beaus Georgi and Florian.
