Warning: Contains SPOILERS for The Santa Clauses episode 4!

There was a mysterious figure who was at the end of The Santa Clauses episode 4 and greeted Scott Calvin, but who was it? Just as Tim Allen's character begins to settle into his new life of not being Santa Claus, the future of Christmas is about to bring him back into the fold. The very end of The Santa Clauses episode 4 shows Scott finding his family frozen in their home and immediately becoming concerned with what has happened. It is only then that a hand touches his shoulder, but the credits start to roll before the show reveals who was at the end of The Santa Clauses episode 4.

The person in question appears to be the same "Him" who Betty asks The Christmas Witch to help her find. After being fired by Santa Simon Choski, Betty visits Befana to try to help save Christmas and seems to know she will need help to do so. That is why the most likely answer for who was at the end of The Santa Clauses episode 4 is Bernard the Elf. His status within the North Pole and years of serving Santa should make him highly respected among the other elves, especially for a fellow Head Elf like Betty. It would seem that Betty has called upon Bernard to try and help save Christmas and get Scott involved too.

Why The Santa Clauses' "Him" Is (Almost) Definitely Bernard The Elf

Bernard the Elf in The Santa Clause 2

There are a few reasons why Bernard is almost certainly the "Him" mentioned in The Santa Clauses episode 4. For starters, it is confirmed that David Krumholtz returns as part of The Santa Clauses' cast and that Bernard plays a "pivotal part in teaching Scott some things that maybe he didn’t know." Viewers are expecting to see Bernard in The Santa Clauses for a single episode as a result of this reveal. The brief glimpses of Bernard's return in the marketing even show him in the Calvin family's living room, which is where episode 4 ends.

The case for Bernard being who was at the end of The Santa Clauses episode 4 is also helped by the fact that there are no other realistic options. The tease means that the identity of "Him" is a big deal and someone that audiences know from the Santa Clause movies. While one of the Council of Legendary Figures members appearing would be a big surprise, none of the male members really fit with The Santa Clauses story. Bernard the Elf is the only sensible answer to be the "Him" that Betty is looking for.

Bernard's Return Can Finally Answer A Santa Clause Mystery

When Bernard returns in The Santa Clauses, the show will finally be able to answer why he was not the Head Elf anymore in The Santa Clause 3. David Krumholtz was the only main actor from the previous two movies not to return, but the sequel did not address his absence in any way. The movie promoted Spencer Breslin's Curtis to Head-Elf in Bernard's absence. Now, The Santa Clauses can fill in the gaps and reveal what happened to Bernard after The Santa Clause 2.
