The White Men Can't Jump remake's early reactions are coming out strong. The film, which is due to drop on Hulu on May 19, is a remake of the 1992 Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes film of the same name. It will follow the buddy dynamic between stars Jack Harlow and Sinqua Walls as their characters come up with a plan to hustle people in basketball.Recently, an early screening of the new White Men Can't Jump was held with several social media personalities in attendance. After the screening, they took to Twitter to share their first thoughts on the project. They seem more or less unanimous that the project is surprisingly fresh and funny, even though not all of them were quite convinced a remake was the best idea. Check out select reactions below:

Will White Men Can't Jump Continue Hulu's Franchise Hot Streak?

With pre-screenings like this, it's always best to take reactions with a grain of salt. Sometimes viewers can become swept up in the excitement of the event rather than the film itself. However, if these reactions accurately represent how at-home audiences will feel about White Men Can't Jump, this could spell great news for Hulu.

The streaming service has recently had a streak of hits based around various 20th Century Studios IPs. This includes 2022's Hellraiser, which was the most-watched movie across all streaming platforms during the first two weeks of its release. Another huge success was the Predator prequel Prey, which drew solid numbers as well as earning a Certified Fresh 93 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes.

White Men Can't Jump could very well join the ranks of this collection of Hulu titles. If so, it would be a huge boon for director Charles "Calmatic" Kidd II, who opened the year with the House Party reboot, a movie that didn't make a huge splash at the box office. It still remains to be seen how critics and fans will take his latest film, but now there's only a month left until viewers can find out for themselves.
