The White Lotus season 2 star Meghann Fahy responds to a popular theory about Daphne's children's real father. Taking place at the fictional resort's Sicilian location, The White Lotus season 2 stars Fahy alongside Theo James as her husband, Cameron. Season 2, which has focused on themes of masculinity and infidelity, sees Daphne and Cam's relationship contrasted with their friends, Harper (Aubrey Plaza) and Ethan's (Will Sharpe). Throughout the season, their relationship has been put under a microscope as Harper discovers their seemingly "perfect" marriage isn't what it seems, including their children.

In a new interview with Elle UK, Fahy addresses The White Lotus fan theory about Daphne's children's real father, which argues that her trainer is their father, not Cam. While Fahy admits she did not ask creator Mike White if the theory is true, she believes the moment insinuates precisely what fans have theorized. Fahy also reminds viewers to never underestimate Daphne, whose proven herself to be just as smart and calculating as her husband. Check out what Fahy had to say about the theory below:

"And I think one of those ways is you could wonder if Daphne's suggesting that her child is her trainer’s child and not her husband's. She shows the photo of the kids [but is meant to show one of her personal trainer] and Harper says “these are your kids and she's like, “Oh, whoops,” but she knew it was. There are so many layers to her that I think you couldn't count it out. I don't know that it's 100% the truth, I can't say that it is because Mike didn't even tell me if that was. But I think there is a world in which that is the case."

What Will Happen To Daphne & Cam On The White Lotus Season 2

The White Lotus season 2 theory fits perfectly into Daphne and Cam's storyline, but more importantly, Daphne's character arc. Although she initially comes off as a naive trophy wife, it is slowly revealed that Daphne may be even more calculating than her finance bro husband. Cam never shies away from showing just how arrogant he is, and openly admits to cheating on Daphne, but Daphne uses this to her advantage. Cam's infidelity reaches new lows when he convinces Ethan to party with escorts Lucia (Simona Tabasco) and Mia (Beatrice Grannò), and has sex with Lucia, while Daphne and Harper are out. However, after episode 5, it's clear that Daphne does not see herself as a victim, but rather a willing accomplice in her and Cam's facade. Instead of letting his affairs destroy her, they embolden her to make her own moves.

In typical The White Lotus fashion, the season 2 premiere revealed multiple hotel guests have died by the end of their vacation. Luckily, it's confirmed that Daphne will remain alive, as she discovers one of the bodies. Previews for the season finale see tensions rise between Cam and Ethan, as the two are shown fighting with each other in the water. While Daphne is in great spirits before discovering it, Cam is not with her, which means he could be one of the multiple guests killed, perhaps at the hands of Ethan. Although Cam is guilty of cheating, it's clear that Ethan feels equally guilty of his actions, and is starting to become suspicious of Cam's motives.

Creator Mike White loves a twist as proved by the ending of The White Lotus season 1. It seems too obvious if Cam, arguably the worst character, gets killed off, although viewers may be rooting for his demise. While Harper and Ethan are falling apart, Daphne and Cam only appear to be getting stronger. Although some have speculated Daphne, fed up with Cam's cheating, kills him in revenge, it feels too predictable for White's tastes. Daphne has proven herself to be a fan-favorite character, and that could ruin her development.
