Astrology always has a grain of truth and has no shortage of wisdom. That goes for the characters from The O.C. as well. Here are the 12 zodiac signs and the characters that correspond with them. For better or for worse.

Aquarius: Marissa Cooper

As an air sign, Marissa is easily defined as flighty and unpredictable. Her status as queen bee of Orange County causes her to be superficial at times, being accustomed to her rich lifestyle. She always sees the best in people which is her saving grace, despite her questionable life choices.

Her social graces are part of her nature, including inviting Ryan into her life the first night they met. She is honest about her feelings, making her an unabashed Aquarius.

Taurus: Sandy Cohen

There is no question that Sandy is as steadfast as the bull of his sign. Taureans are the most dependable of all the zodiac signs. He sets the foundation for the entire Cohen clan and is the moral compass for the county. His devotion is unwavering, as far as adopting a troubled teen into his house when he had no other options.

Aries: Taylor Townsend

Though not outwardly aggressive like Aries typically are, Taylor is tenacious and undefeated. People of this sign are ruled by their emotions just like Taylor. She often speaks without thinking, her ambition too strong to keep in line.

Aries may come on a little strong like Taylor did when trying to befriend Seth and Summer. However, she is a natural-born leader and unshakeable in her pursuits.

Gemini: Kaitlin Cooper

From the first moment Kaitlin showed back up from boarding school, she was a quintessential Gemini. Erratic and inconsistent, Kaitlin is the epitome of unpredictability.

She can be caring when it comes to what is important to her but has no issues with deceiving those around her to get what she wants. Gemini is represented by the twins and Kaitlin is nothing but dual-natured.

Pisces: Ryan Atwood

Ryan originally came off as a hothead when he first arrived in Newport. But when he found his place with the Cohen’s he embraced his Pisces destiny. Like Sandy, Ryan soon became the voice of reason. He used his experience in Chino to dispense sage wisdom and lead friends on the right path. He always has the instinct to do the right thing and uses this wisdom to help.

Ryan is ruled by this sign, proven by his compassion and always needing to help others. Whether they want him too or not. And of course more than anything, Ryan enjoys his solitude.

Sagittarius: Anna Stern

Anna is first and foremost creative, the bread and butter for any Sagittarius. She bonds with Seth over comic books and created her own book to impress him. Anna was too good for the world and the show. She had to leave Orange County in season one. Any Sagittarius is defined by their humor and Anna’s is the best. She is caring and is always looking to help when she can.

Libra: Jimmy Cooper

Libras enjoy balance in their work and home life, which Jimmy became all too familiar with after his financial troubles. The Jimmys of the world can take some time to come to the right decision but they ultimately do.

Jimmy never liked disappointing anyone, which caused many of his struggles in life. He didn't tell Marissa he and Julie were getting divorced until the day of. But even after stealing money from his investors, he eventually turned himself in and admitted his mistakes.

Scorpio: Julie Cooper

Scorpios are resourceful, which has been Julie’s aim in life. Growing up in Riverside, Julie has always had to struggle to get what she wants. She is always working an angle and trying to make life better for herself.

Even when she is at her lowest, she is always able to make the best life for her daughters. When living in a trailer park, she was still able to throw Kaitlin a birthday party at one of the biggest houses in the county. Julie feels emotions deeply, although she does not always make the best decisions with those feelings.

Leo: Hailey Nichol

Leo’s are fire signs. Fiery and full of desire, Hailey fits the bill. She targeted her sister Kirsten's old boyfriend Jimmy when she wanted him and flew to Japan at a moment's notice. She is always ruled by the desire to have fun, no matter what the cost.

She is confident and is the life of the party, even if she can’t stop that party once it has started. She encourages jealousy and has no qualms about that.

Capricorn: Kirsten Cohen

Not your typical Newport mom, Kirsten is ambitious and the breadwinner of the family. Her ambition is the basis for any Capricorn.

Kirsten has always had a job and done it very well. From running her father’s company at the Newport group to her dating service with Julie Cooper. Kirsten is determined and has trouble taking a break. Achievement is important to her and she strives to be the best.

Cancer: Summer Roberts

Known as the most challenging sign, Summer has no trouble fitting that description as a Cancer. She is always changing and challenging those around her.

Loyal to a fault, Summer protects those around her. Even Ryan, who it took a while to warm up to. Cancers are imaginative. Summer is one of the most creative characters. She is the basis for Seth’s comic book "Atomic County," and always has a plan of action.

Virgo: Seth Cohen

Virgos come across mild-mannered. Seth certainly kept to himself before Ryan came along. Virgos also have a love for the arts which is Seth’s passion in life. From comics to obscure Asian cinema.

Much like Seth's quips, a Virgo’s mind never stops turning. Even to his detriment, he never stops thinking. Such as the time when Seth was so worried about his Brown interview he didn’t show up. Being alone had never been a problem for Seth, like any Virgo. Until he met Ryan, that is.
