Updated on May 31st, 2022 by Amanda Bruce: Stranger Things continues to be one of Netflix's most popular shows because it manages to find just the right balance of horror coming-of-age story, small town sensibilities and conspiracy theories, and comedy and drama. With the release of Season 4, the audience doesn't just get more backstory and another scary villain, but also some new fascinating characters to get to know. That makes for some great new additions to the Stranger Things characters as zodiac signs.

Aries - Murray Bauman

Murray outside in Stranger Things season 4

Murray appears in several episodes to help Nancy and Jonathan try to uncover the conspiracies happening in Hawkins. He also begrudgingly helps Joyce and Hopper later in the series even though Hopper wouldn't listen to his theories early in the show.

He's similar to the Aries sign because he's a confident character who knows what he's talking about as well as an honest character who tells brutal truths. He's also a moody and short-tempered character who tells everyone over and over again how inconvenienced he is by their situation even as he's helping them.

Aries - Jim Hopper

Stranger Things Chief Jim Hopper

Chief Hopper's direct and blunt nature reflects the cardinal energy of Aries. Hopper is brave and doesn't shy away from fighting monsters and bad guys, though his heroic efforts can land him in trouble.

Aries is also known for being a strong leader. Hopper channels this trait as other people flock to him for his strength and skills. Almost all of Hopper's traits, good and bad, are similar to the Aries personality traits.

Taurus - Steve Harrington

Steve Harrington wearing black glasses in Stranger Things

Taurus is a grounded sign that finds security and comfort in material possessions and social status. Steve Harrington, the former King of Hawkins High, embodies this typical Taurus trait. Of the Stranger Things zodiac signs, he's one of the easiest to place.

Steve enjoys his large house and is concerned with his image. Like many Taureans, his belongings bring him a sense of safety and stability. He also, however, has the protective streak of a Taurus. Though Steve doesn't get along with Jonathan, and initially finds the younger group of kids in Hawkins a little odd, he doesn't hesitate to go to bat for them, quite literally. He ends up being dubbed a "babysitter," but he's incredible protective.

Taurus - Jason Carver

Jason is stunned in Stranger Things Season 4

Introduced in Season 4, Jason is the new big man on campus, so it makes sense that he would have quite a bit in common with Steve. Both characters are incredibly stubborn, and once they get an idea in their head, don't want to let them go.

Jason also has a protective streak. He wants justice for the death of his girlfriend Chrissy, and he decides that in order to do that, he's going to make his basketball team his own personal investigative squad. Of course, they allow their zeal to make them more violent, but Jason is always the man in charge.

Gemini - Robin Buckley

Robin in Stranger Things Season 3

Geminis typically love to communicate and thrive in conversation. Steve's best friend Robin reflects this air sign's trait. The Scoops Ahoy worker is a talented linguist who helps Dustin and Steve decipher the secret Russian code.

Robin reflects other characteristics that Geminis can relate to. She is intelligent, curious, and quick-witted throughout her adventures with the Scoops Troop.

Gemini - Will Byers

Will in his Will the Wise costume in Stranger Things

Will is a gentle, affectionate, and curious friend that is always there for his friends when they need him. He is trapped inside the Upside Down in the first season and has to try his best to quickly adapt, learn about the environment quickly, and survive the ordeal.

When Will returns he's understandably even more nervous than when he was trapped in the Upside Down. He might not be as quick to engage someone in conversation as Robin, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have the quick wit or the gift for communication that he does. Will's communication skills tend to flourish in art instead of speech.

Cancer - Joyce Byers

Stranger Things Joyce Byers

Cancer is a nurturing sign that embodies loyalty towards family members and friends. Because of this, many Cancers can relate to Joyce Byers.

Joyce is fiercely protective of her children and refuses to give up looking for Will in Season 1. She is caring, though can be sensitive and defensive. If someone crosses a Cancer, a Cancer knows how to hold a grudge, like her boss not wanting to sell her string lights in the first season. They're also incredibly welcoming though, as Joyce is when she's first introduced to Eleven and her story.

Cancer - Suzie Bingham

Suzie sings in Stranger Things Season 3

Suzie initially gets a fun cameo in Season 3, but she returns to help save the day in Season 4, even if she doesn't actually know that she's helping save the day. Suzie, like Joyce, is an incredibly caring person. She comes from a large family where she's expected to take care of her younger siblings, and she takes her parents' concerns very seriously.

She's willing to break the rules, however, to help Dustin with just about anything, from changing his grade to winning a gaming contest for him. Mike just better hope she never finds out he lied to her about the video game contest.

Leo - Billy Hargrove

Billy smiles in Stranger Things

Billy Hargrove is introduced in Season 2 as a powerful figure who immediately usurps Steve's position as King of Hawkins High. Billy has a commanding and charismatic presence that exemplifies Leo traits.

The metal-loving lifeguard was a bully but redeemed himself by sacrificing his life for Eleven in Season 3. Billy's strength and bravery exemplify other familiar Leo characteristics.

Leo - Karen Wheeler

Karen Wheeler reclines in her swimsuit in Stranger Things Season 3

Karen Wheeler is a mom who just wants to be involved in the lives of her kids. She's also someone who always has something to say, even when her kids are hiding things from her.

She might not seem like someone who longs to be the center of attention like Billy, but she's got a similar flair for the dramatic. She does like to be the parent calling the shots when other parents are involved. Karen also basks in the attention offered by Billy until he suddenly withdraws it.

Virgo - Nancy Wheeler

Nancy, Stranger Things

Nancy Wheeler showcases several Virgo characteristics in Stranger Things. Nancy is a hard-working individual who studies hard at school. She is kind and generous, but can also be stubborn and prone to perfectionism.

Nancy can overthink matters, but this also allows her to solve mysteries and get to the root of problems. Her dedication pays off when she exposes Hawkins Lab in Season 2.

Virgo - Barbara Holland

Shannon Purser

Although Barb doesn't have much screen time in the first season of Stranger Things, she still has a well-developed personality that is similar to her best friend Nancy's.

She's a loyal and kind friend who is overly shy and wants to watch out for her friend to make sure that she's not hurt when they go out to Steve's. She tends to worry and didn't want to go in the first place but went to watch out for Nancy. All of Barb's traits are very similar to the typical Virgo personality traits.

Libra - Bob Newby

Bob in Stranger Things

Libra is a diplomatic sign that can be generally passive, enjoying peace and harmony over conflict. Bob channels the energy of this sign. He is one of the show's most good-hearted characters - who sadly met a tragic fate in Season 2.

Bob is clever, peaceful, and optimistic. His cheery nature whilst trying to help Will embodies some of the most relatable Libra traits.

Libra - Calvin Powell

Officer Calvin Powell talks into his radio in front of a protest in Stranger Things

While Hopper rushes into situations and the other members of the police force are busy cracking jokes, Officer Powell just wants to do his job. He takes his notes, he asks his questions, and he gives an eye roll here and there when he disagrees. He's not as cheery as Bob Newby, but he's still got that Libra need for harmony.

Libras are often natural leaders, but work best in a leadership role when it can be shared with someone. Perhaps that's why he seems to work best with Hopper as the Chief and rapidly loses his footing in Season 4 as the Hawkins residents grow more restless. Powell just wants to help the community, but it's hard for him to find justice when he doesn't know what supernatural elements are in play.

Scorpio - Johnathan Byers

Charlie Heaton as Jonathan Byers in Stranger Things

Scorpios are drawn to dark and taboo areas of life and can sometimes be secretive and reclusive. These traits can be seen in Johnathan Byers' character. Johnathan is a loner at school who investigates the darkness of the Upside Down.

Scorpio is a water sign; they are emotionally sensitive and tend to feel things intensely. They don't always allow others to see that though, just as it takes Jonathan a long time to open up to people.

Scorpio - Erica Sinclair

Erica liking an ice cream in Stranger Things

While Scorpios are often thought of as quiet, Erica doesn't have that particular trait. Instead, Erica makes sure everyone knows exactly what she thinks about a particular situation, which is a result of another Scorpio trait: their aggressive approach to getting what they want.

Erica knows exactly how to manipulate her brother and his friends to get the things she wants, and she never passes up an opportunity to do it. Erica has goals, and she's going to achieve them.

Sagittarius - Max Mayfield

Max Stranger Things

Sagittarius' may relate to the fiery and spirited Max Mayfield. Max is an adventurous and dynamic person who immediately intrigues the Party when she moves to Hawkins in Season 2.

Sagittarius is a free-spirited fire sign that is generally optimistic and courageous. Max mirrors Sagittarius' bravery when she stands up to her stepbrother and helps her friends fight against the Mind Flayer.

Sagittarius - Eddie Munson

Joe Quinn as Eddie Munson in Stranger Things Season 4

Eddie might not be quite as adventurous as Max, but he's definitely a free spirit. Eddie doesn't allow the small town of Hawkins to box him in. He plays in his band, runs Dungeons and Dragons campaigns, and will even befriend an eleven-year-old if thinks they've got the same interests.

He's also got the blunt nature of a Sagittarius. Eddie says exactly what he's thinking, regardless of whether someone wants to hear it. That endears him to Chrissy, but it gets under Steve's skin, and it tends to leave him as the odd man out at Hawkins High School.

Capricorn - Mike Wheeler

Mike Wheeler talking on his Walkie Talkie on Stranger Things

Mike Wheeler is actually one of the more difficult Stranger Things zodiac signs to place. Mike is a practical and persistent person who is also sensitive and resourceful. Those can be seen as very Virgo traits, but they're prevalent in many of the Earth signs, like Capricorn. Mike is stubborn and determined when it comes to protecting Eleven from Hawkins Lab, and extremely loyal to his family despite not getting along with them.

Mike displays other key Capricorn characteristics throughout the seasons. He is intelligent, ambitious, and pragmatic. Mike works incredibly hard when it's something he cares about as well, whether that's saving his town or planning an ambitious D&D campaign.

Capricorn - Dr. Alexei

stranger things dr alexei drinking a slurpee

Dr. Alexei only appears briefly in the series, but he was an engaging character all the same.

He has a similar personality to the typical Capricorn because he is a responsible scientist with good manners, but he also knows his worth and knows that he won't help Joyce, Hopper, and Murray without a Slurpee. He's a bit of a know-it-all, but he is the most qualified person in the room most of the time. Capricorns are always aware when they're the most capable person.

Aquarius - Dustin Henderson

designer-behind-stranger-things-fashion

Aquarius is the revolutionary of the zodiac. They are imaginative, innovative, and intelligent. Like Dustin, they enjoy theoretical discussion and often conceptualize the world.

Dustin is unique and idealistic, though often finds himself rejected by his peers in society. Nevertheless, he never loses his Aquarian altruism and friendly, quirky nature.

Aquarius - Lucas Sinclair

Lucas in Stranger Things

Lucas is similar to his friend Dustin as they're both smart and creative people who tend to come up with ideas for original solutions.

Lucas also depends on humor to lighten the mood and doesn't typically want to look at the situation they're facing head-on and instead chooses to run from his emotions and hide behind comedy. Lucas' personality traits are similar to the Aquarius' typical personality traits.

Pisces - Eleven

Eleven in her pink dress and blue jacket in Stranger Things Season 1

Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac, shares a strong connection with everything mystical, magical, and spiritual. Eleven embodies the empathic nature of a Pisces as well as their affinity with otherworldly forces.

People born under the zodiac sign of Pisces can relate to the telekinetic teenager's romantic, impressionable, and often naive nature. Eleven is a sensitive soul and a powerful person who reflects multiple Pisces traits.

Pisces - Argyle

Eduardo Franco as Argyle in Stranger Things

When Argyle is first introduced in Season 4, it seems like he's largely going to be comic relief compared to the usually sensitive Byers brothers. While that's true, Argyle also proves himself to be a loyal friend, a bit of a dreamer, and someone who considers himself spiritual.

He might not have the same understanding of just what situation the Byers siblings are caught up in, but Argyle demonstrates that he's a creative Pisces with his conversations with Joyce, love for unconventional pizza toppings, and quick connection to Suzie's big sister.
