Though not all of them are as iconic as Pikachu, the electric type has been filled with strange and interesting creatures throughout the Pokémon games, often having some of the biggest personalities around. As one of the strongest Pokémon types, electric-type Pokémon have a reputation for being cool and over-the-top.
This makes it very easy to discern where each of them belongs in the zodiac based on their characteristics. These twelve Pokémon are perfectly suited to be matched with the zodiac signs.
Aries - Raikou
Typical of an Aries, it would be hard to see Raikou anywhere else in the zodiac than in the sign of the Ram. As a legendary Pokémon who has been a mainstay of the games for a while, Raikou is well-deserving of its reputation for being majestic and independent, so much so that for most people, the most they will ever see of Raikou is a flash of lightning and a long roar of thunder.
Independence isn't the only Aries trait that Raikou possesses, as it exemplifies passion and commitment, asserting itself in any situation the wild Pokémon finds itself in.
Taurus - Plusle
The Taurus sign is known for producing some of the best friends anyone could ask for, and that's exactly what Plusle is. With its sparkling pom poms, this Pokémon is an all-out cheerleader, supporting its friends and teammates in anything they do.
Astrological Taureans are people that can be relied on and the same can be said of Plusle. Its friends' victories are its victories, as it gives off celebratory sparks whenever they do well. The Taurus isn't a sign known for its lack of intelligence, however, and Plusle also shows its smarts by being resourceful and climbing up power lines to feed on the abundant electricity.
Gemini - Pachirisu
There are a lot of cute Pokémon in the electric type but Pachirisu is undoubtedly one of the cutest of all the electric-type Pokémon, and there is good reason for that. Even aside from its appearance, Pachirisu is incredibly affectionate and sociable, with pairs of them often rubbing cheek pouches together to try to share electricity.
Gemini is a sign known for its generosity, and there aren't many Pokémon nicer than Pachirisu to match this. Like those in the Gemini sign, Pachirisu also shows intelligence and patience, using fur balls to store electricity underground for when it needs it.
Cancer - Shinx
Whilst the Cancer sign has a lot of positive aspects, one thing they tend to be known for is that they can seem prickly to people that don't them well. Shinx takes this to a whole new level, using its muscles to generate electricity and cause its skin to glow so brightly it blinds those who it doesn't trust.
Like astrological Cancers, Shinx trusts its gut and it knows when its best strategy in a situation is to simply leave it as fast as possible. Additionally, to those who take the time to befriend it, Shinx's sharp intuition and survival instincts come to benefit everyone.
Leo - Electivire
Electivire may be one of the uglier electric-type Pokémon, but luckily for those who belong to the Leo sign, the big, brightly colored Pokémon also has a lot going for it. Leos tend to be trailblazers as boldness is one of the key traits associated with the sign. Electivire embodies this perfectly, forging a path forward and ignoring enemy attacks with a single-minded approach to achieving victory.
With this level of determination, Electivire has the inspirational quality that goes with the Leo sign. Where Electivire goes, others will want to follow. Sometimes drawing attention can be a great quality to have.
Virgo - Blitzle
Blitzle might look like an unassuming Pokémon, looking something like a small zebra, but behind its appearance is one of the smartest and coolest Pokémon around. Blitzle waits for thunderclouds to appear before gathering in order to collect the lightning with its mane and store the electricity.
The Pokémon also have a clever means of communication that they can use at long distances, using the flashes of their manes to send messages. Blitzle is a pack animal, indicating they are responsible and generous creatures, another trait that pairs them well with Virgo.
Libra - Ampharos
In the zodiac, Libra is strongly associated with kindness, even putting themselves before others in an effort to bring harmony. Ampharos shares this spirit, using the light of its tail to act as a beacon for those who find themselves lost. Ampharos is a guiding light, bringing together friends and family wherever it goes.
People of the Libra star sign often find themselves in a similar facilitating role, but their kindness and loyalty don't go unnoticed and are well-appreciated by those who come into contact with them.
Scorpio - Pikachu
Pikachu is one of the most iconic Pokémon of all time and also the cutest Pokémon ever and though its appearance is a big factor in this, there's no doubting it has one of the most distinctive personalities of any Pokémon. Like those in the Scorpio sign, Pikachu is smart for a Pokémon, even becoming a detective in Detective Pikachu, as well as intuitive, using its tail to sense its surroundings.
Furthermore, Pikachu is known for taking a while to get used to new people and develop a sense of trust and loyalty, which may be a familiar story to those who are friends with Scorpios. Pikachu needs to discharge electricity regularly in order to not feel stressed, which also has parallels with the emotional traits associated with Scorpio.
Sagittarius - Zapdos
One of the three legendary birds of Kanto, Zapdos is not a typical Pokémon. Independence can be a key trait for people of the Sagitarrius zodiac sign and that is one reason why Zapdos is an ideal match. Rarely even seen except for when it seemingly appears from the clouds and throws lightning below, Zapdos doesn't follow anyone.
Zapdos is assertive and in control of its surroundings, both in a figurative sense with the power it exudes wherever it goes, and in a literal sense, with its ability to control lightning and use the weather to its will.
Capricorn - Heliolisk
Evolving from the unassuming Helioptile, Heliolisk is not to be underestimated. Heliolisk is a hardworking and resourceful Pokémon and, as is characteristic of the Capricorn sign, it is capable of incredible things when it puts its mind to it. Heliolisk can open its frills and produce enough electricity to power an entire skyscraper.
Heliolisk can also use electricity to power up its legs and make it run incredibly fast. It is no wonder that these Pokémon were worshipped in previous civilizations. No matter how ambitious the idea, Heliolisk can and will achieve it.
Aquarius - Dedenne
Aquarius is a sign most known for being unique and not really fitting easily into a box. With Dedenne this is also true, as it doesn't even evolve from or into anything. Dedenne just stays the quirky and interesting Pokémon it is. With its unusual whiskers and large rodent-like ears as well, Dedenne is one of the cutest unevolving Pokémon of all.
There is also some practicality to Dedenne as well, however. The Pokémon is intelligent, using electrical waves to communicate with others over incredibly long distances. Dedenne has a great balance of down-to-earth resourcefulness and oddball energy, making it a good fit for Aquarius.
Pisces - Jolteon
Jolteon is a Pokémon that trusts its gut above all, its spiky fur giving a hint as to what it's capable of if it feels unhappy in a given situation. As is typical of the Pisces zodiac sign, Jolteon is almost always driven by emotion. It is unable to hide when it feels angry or frightened as it comes out in outbursts of electricity for the Pokémon.
If it is able to lower its defenses, however, Jolteon can be very sensitive and make for a great companion. The Pisces sign is also defined by creativity and intelligence, and there are also hints of this in the way Jolteon reacts fondly with others once it comes to trust them.
