Every good story needs not only heroes but also those who will stand against them - the villains, or anti-heroes, at least. And Doctor Who is no exception to this rule. Since its introduction in 1963, it has managed to create many iconic villains who appeared time and time again on the show. However, nowadays, the audience is most familiar with antagonists from the renewed series, starting in 2005.

Some of the villains follow their own path and only stand against the Doctor when he tries to stop them. Others actively seek the Time Lord's destruction. Whatever the case, each villain is different which makes it easy for the fans to find a match between them based on their Zodiac sign.

Aries: The Zygons

Zygon Doctor Who

Zygons have shapeshifting powers which makes it more difficult to deal with them. After all, they can transform into other people and confuse those around them.

When they're disguised, they can be quite pleasant - even friendly. Arieses easily make friends since they tend to be confident and optimistic people. But once the Zygons change back into their natural shape, their personality also usually turns around.

Taurus: The Vashta Nerada

Vashta Nerada

Tauruses are known for their persistence. They can be quite stubborn - very stubborn, in fact - and tend to pursue their goals until they achieve them.

The Vashta Nerada, however scary they are, show a similar degree of persistence. They go after their future victims and it's very hard, near impossible to escape them. Once they latch onto someone, this person is pretty much doomed.

Gemini: The Ood

The Ood in Doctor Who

The Ood are fascinating creatures who aren't necessarily evil. In fact, most of the time, they're quite mild and kind. However, when somebody controls them and has nefarious plans, they can turn violent.

Geminis tend to be gentle people who make for good friends - just like the Ood potentially make for good company. They're also adaptable and can learn how to thrive, or at least survive, even in highly unpleasant circumstances. The Ood also didn't have it easy but they persevered and are still around.

Cancer: The Daleks

The Twelfth Doctor meets Rusty The Dalek.

Not every Dalek is the same and some manage to build their own personality (usually due to an error). However, the character trait which best describes the Daleks - is persistence. Similarly to Tauruses, Cancers are also tenacious people, and it's hard to stop them once they decide to achieve something.

The Daleks are almost unanimous in their effort to exterminate all their enemies. And it takes the combined strength of the Doctor and his companions to thwart their evil plan - more than once!

Leo: The Master

John Simm as The Master Saxon in Doctor Who

No matter which face he (or she) wears at the moment, the Master remains one of the Doctor's greatest enemies. Perhaps because they were friends once, and the Doctor finds it hard to give up on the other Time Lord.

The Master's personality varies, depending on his regeneration, but the one portrayed by John Simm was loud, overly confident, and boisterous. All of which makes him a Leo. People born on this sign are fun and charismatic, but can also be arrogant and self-centered.

Virgo: The Weeping Angels

Weeping Angels

Weeping Angels and the episode Blink remain one of the scariest in the entire renewed Doctor Who. These lonely assassins, as the Doctor calls them, are ultimately very lonely creatures. They can't communicate with other beings and can't even look at others of their same kind.

Virgos also tend to isolate themselves from others sometimes since they can be overly shy. However, they're also kind - even though the Weeping Angels are terrifying, they at least don't kill their victims. Instead, they just send them back in time and allow them to live out the rest of their lives. It's not much but it still counts.

Libra: The Cybermen

Cybermen in Doctor Who

A bit similar to the Daleks, the Cybermen also have one primary goal - even though their goal differs from the one the Daleks have. Cybermen simply want everyone to become like them, and they will go to great lengths to achieve this.

They don't make differences between people - why? After all, once they've had their way, everyone will be the same. In a twisted way, they embody the cooperative, social and fair-minded traits of Libras who also wish for all people to be equal more often than not.

Scorpio: The Great Intelligence

The Doctor with Richard E. Grant as the Great Intelligence in Doctor Who

Some villains have names that make it immediately clear what's their biggest asset. And in the case of the Great Intelligence, it's his - unsurprisingly - intellect. That coincides well with people born in the sign of Scorpio. Scorpios are resourceful and intelligent people who can usually find their way out of any problems.

They also enjoy measuring their skills with someone else and finding out who's the better, smarter person of the two.

Sagittarius: The Celestial Toymaker

The Celestial Toymaker

If somebody wants to have a laugh, they should find the company of Sagittariuses. People born in this Zodiac sign tend to have an excellent sense of humor, they like to be carefree, but sometimes take it a step too far.

The Celestial Toymaker certainly didn't lack a funny side, but he tormented the Doctor and his friends with a series of puzzles and tasks - all the while having a proper laugh himself. Needless to say, the Doctor wasn't as amused.

Capricorn: The Reapers

Doctor Who Reapers

While traveling through time, the Doctor and his companions sometimes mess with the rules of time more than should be allowed. That's when the Reapers come in. It happened in the first series when Rose changed the past by saving her dad's life.

The Reapers control that nobody messes with time. Capricorns are known for always maintaining control - both over their lives and they're also good at managing others.

Aquarius: Sutekh

Sutekh the Destroyer Doctor Who

Sutekh the Destroyer is a villain the people who only watched the renewed Doctor Who might not know. However, he fits the description of Aquariuses perfectly. People born in this sign tend to be independent, they stand above others, can be innovative, but also uncompromising and aloof. Sutekh similarly isolated himself.

He believed he stood above everybody and was determined to obliterate them from existence. Luckily, the Fourth Doctor stopped him.

Pisces: The Dream Lord

The Dream Lord

Pisces are people who like to think about the future, dream about possibilities, what might happen to them. The Dream Lord also puts a lot of emphasis on dreams - but he doesn't use his powers for good.

Instead, he torments people with them - something Amy and Rory learned all too well. Pisces are strongly connected to their emotions, and the Dream Lord knows which buttons to press to make people hurt or scared.
