The Peanuts gang is one of the most beloved and iconic groups of cartoon characters of all time. Led by Charlie Brown and his loyal dog Snoopy, the Peanuts have entertained generations with their classic holiday specials and their wise-beyond-their-years behavior. But as mature as these kids seem, would these last in the Hunger Games?
Based on the dystopian book series, the Hunger Games movies introduce the idea of a fight-to-the-death competition featuring young children as the competitors. Immediately, the idea of the Peanuts gang in such a scenario is hilariously absurd, but it does make one wonder who has the best chance of winning.
Woodstock
Woodstock is the adorable yellow bird and best friend to Snoopy. He joins Snoopy on a lot of his adventures and proves to be very resourceful at certain times. But when talking about a deadly competition like Hunger Games, there is realistically no way Woodstock stands a chance.
He is just a tiny little bird who would be far too vulnerable. Even if he could use his resources to avoid danger, he would eventually have to face off with someone and there is no way he would win.
Charlie Brown
Charlie Brown may be the starring character in the Peanuts gang, but that doesn't mean he is made to look very heroic. In fact, the various shows and specials depict Charlie Brown as a young sad sack who is constantly finding something to worry about and always finding himself in some sort of dilemma.
Such a pessimistic and self-conscious character has no place in the Hunger Games. Charlie is also a very gullible child, constantly falling for Lucy's football trick. Given how common treachery is in the world of Hunger Games, Charlie Brown would be an easy target.
Schroeder
Schroeder is the character who is identified by the fact that he is always playing the piano. He is obsessed with Beethoven and is a very talented musician. That makes him seem rather impressive compared to the other children, but his skills won't be much help in the Hunger Games.
Schroeder is shown to be easily thrown when someone interrupts his piano-playing. Losing focus so easily would be a real weakness in this competition. Whatever intelligence he has shown in the past doesn't feel applicable in a life-or-death situation.
Sally
Sally is the sister of Charlie Brown and probably one of the nicer characters in the group. She is a kind and caring little girl, which probably wouldn't be helpful when entering into the Hunger Games.
While the Hunger Games have featured characters like Sally, with Rue as a good example, things didn't really work out for her. There is the possibility that Sally could make some strong allies, but that only lasts for so long.
Linus
Linus seems to be one of the more philosophical members of the Peanuts gang and is known to think about very deep subjects. He is also shown to always be cuddling his favorite blanket. These qualities might seem ill-suited for the Hunger Games, but Linus might be surprisingly capable for such a battle.
He has shown to be quite talented with his trusty blanket, even using it to launch snowballs with deadly accuracy. He is also willing to take on daunting challenges like staying up on Halloween to see the Great Pumpkin. If forced into the situation, Linus could handle himself better than some might think.
Pig Pen
As his name implies, Pig Pen is not someone who has any trouble getting dirty. Despite being followed around by a constant cloud of dust and being covered in dirt at all times, Pig Pen is unbothered by the mess, which suggests he might be more prepared than others for the Hunger Games.
Much like with Peeta, Pig Pen could be fairly effective at camouflage, allowing him to avoid his enemies. His cloud of dust might also help him in a fight, blinding his opponents long enough for him to attack.
Franklin
While the Peanuts gang acts more like adults than most kids, Franklin is the most level-headed out of all of them. Like Peppermint Patty and other characters in the franchise, Franklin comes from the other neighborhood and has very rational reactions to the way Charlie Brown and the others behave.
The ability to approach situations wisely and with logical thinking would be a really great quality for the Hunger Games. Franklin with likely be a more stilled strategist than the others and could win using his intelligence.
Peppermint Patty
When it comes to participating in the Hunger Games, there are some ways that Peppermint Patty would definitely be at a disadvantage. She is shown to be quite lazy at times, occasionally expecting her friend Marci to do all the world for her. She also proves to be a pretty poor student.
But what Peppermint Patty lacks in intelligence, she makes up for by being the most athletic of all the Peanut characters. Her sporty and outgoing personality would definitely give her a leg up in the competition.
Lucy
Katniss Everdeen was not necessarily the strongest competitor in Hunger Games but she is the toughest and so is Lucy. For such a little girl, Lucy can be quite intimidating, bossing people around and picking fights all the time. Clearly, she would excel in this competition.
Lucy has also shown herself to be quite ruthless. She is willing to shove anyone aside in order to get what she wants. Her treatment of Charlie Brown alone proves that she can do some real damage when she wants to.
Snoopy
Snoopy is probably the most popular member of the Peanuts gang and for good reason. He is also a bit of a wildcard, which would make him a strong contender in the Hunger Games. Snoopy can be quite unpredictable with his behavior. Sometimes he is saving the day and other times he is ruining everything.
He is a dog who is always looking for adventure and is always happy. That jubilant personality might seem like a bad fit here, but it often shows that nothing can keep Snoopy down, including those around him.
