Thanks to her transformation for her role in Hulu's The Dropout, Amanda Seyfried has been receiving all kinds of praise for her acting talent. The truth is, she's been completely transforming herself for years with such a large variety of roles. From Karen in Mean Girls to Sophie in Mamma Mia, Seyfried never plays the same type of character twice.

With such a varied background in roles, it's no surprise then that the audience can match a zodiac sign to those different characters, finding one to identify with based on their motivations and personality traits.

Aries: Missy (The Big Wedding)

Missy leaning on Alejandro in The Big Wedding

When Missy is getting ready to marry the guy of her dreams in The Big Wedding, her dysfunctional family and his dysfunctional family are in for a ride. Missy doesn't have a ton of screen time considering it's her wedding, but what the audience does see of her demonstrates her passionate nature, her loyalty, and her desire for honest communication with her potential spouse.

All of that adds up to Missy being an Aries. Aries are often seen as impulsive, but they're just the people who want to be doing something instead of talking about it. That's evident in the way Missy speaks her mind while her parents are more worried about their appearance, and her decision to just go ahead and get married while her family members were busy arguing.

Taurus: Needy (Jennifer's Body)

Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried in the movie Jennifer's Body

Taurus is often thought of as the most stubborn of signs, but it's also often the most stable of signs. They avoid change at all costs. Needy has maintained a friendship with Jennifer since she was a child despite how far their paths have diverged from one another.

Taurus is also one of the most protective of zodiac signs. Needy's devotion to Jennifer changes to a need for justice for the boyfriend that she can't protect from her friend as a succubus. She also becomes someone who sets out to avenge Jennifer after the fact in Jennifer's Body. She is a true Taurus.

Gemini: Lilly (Veronica Mars)

Before Amanda Seyfried was doing movie musicals, she was the title character's murdered best friend in Veronica Mars. The audience only got to know her through a handful of flashbacks in the series.

What the audience does know about Lilly though is that she's bubbly, one of the most popular girls in school, and someone who rolls with the punches when bad things are thrown her way. Lilly is absolutely the charming Gemini.

Cancer: Judy (The Clapper)

Judy at the gas station window in The Clapper

Judy is a gas station attendant saving money to make her dreams come true when she ends up caught up in a late-night talk show bit against her will. Her job, especially working overnights, means that she meets some of the most interesting characters in her Hollywood neighborhood, and she typically makes friends with them all.

Judy sees the good in just about everyone she meets, having a lot of empathy for those in tough situations. Of course, if someone she sees the good in hurts her, she holds a grudge. She doesn't talk to Eddie for six months when she thinks it's his fault that she lost her job. She's the epitome of a Cancer.

Leo: Daphne (Scoob!)

Scoob

Though Fred is often thought of as the leader of the Scooby Gang, it's Daphne who often pulls the most attention, and that's true in Scoob! as well. She's just as much of a natural leader as Fred.

Leos are also incredibly brave and loyal, both traits that Daphne is not short on. She's always ready to put herself out there for her friends, and to solve a mystery.

Virgo: Sophie (Letters To Juliet)

Boy and girl smile at each other in Letters To Juliet

Sophie has her whole life planned out. She knows exactly what she wants to do, but it's a little derailed by her time spent writing letters as though she's Shakespeare's Juliet. She grows to care about the people whose letters she's reading, and she just wants to give them closure.

That tendency to plan everything out, but also the wanting to take care of people, are Virgo traits. They are the planners and the nurturers of the zodiac.

Libra: Karen (Mean Girls)

Karen Smith looks shocked in Mean Girls

Karen might be Amanda Seyfried's most well-known character. Despite her having other roles before, Mean Girls was her big break. As part of the group of Mean Girls, Karen really wasn't intentionally mean. Instead, she was someone who was always willing to listen to both sides of an argument and understand their points - though her friends don't pick up on that.

That's exactly what Libras do. They're about balance and fair play. Sometimes, their sense of fairness can be skewed, but they always strive to see both sides of the coin.

Scorpio: MK (Epic)

MK examines a glowing seed pod in Epic

MK doesn't exactly want to be spending time with her dad in this animated movie. They don't see eye-to-eye. To get her what she wants, MK leaves her dad a note, and decides to leave, but ends up on an adventure instead.

MK's tendency to go after exactly what she wants is exactly how Scorpios operate. They might not always put their exact feelings out in the open right away, but that doesn't mean they don't work toward their goals.

Sagittarius: Sophie (Mamma Mia)

In Mamma Mia and its sequel, Sophie is on a journey of self-discovery as much as she is learning about her family. She wants everyone to be honest with each other, even though she hides her fair share of secrets. She also longs for the freedom to figure out her path in life.

Freedom and honesty are two things a Sagittarius loves, They also love to learn a good story and retell it. The audience sees all of that as Sophie learns about the possibility of who her father is and decides she needs to spread her wings a bit before settling down.

Capricorn: Marion (Mank)

Amanda Seyfried as Marion Davies in Mank

Marion is one of the few characters that Seyfried has played who is inspired by a real person. Actress Marion Davies was a Capricorn in real life (born January 3), so it does make sense that she would be a Capricorn in Mank as well.

Marion has ambition, seeking out dramas despite the studio wanting to keep her in comedy. Of course, she also has a whole lot of loyalty to Hearst, the man who helps make her career possible and made her his mistress when she was still a teenager. That ambition and loyalty are two hallmarks of a Capricorn, but so is Marion's attention to detail as she plans parties and reads scripts.

Aquarius: Elizabeth (The Dropout)

Amanda Seyfried as Elizabeth Holmes screaming in The Dropout

Elizabeth Holmes takes a big risk dropping out of school to form her own company. She takes a bigger risk when the product doesn't work in time and she lies about the results. Elizabeth has goals that she wants to achieve on her own terms.

Her desire to forge her own path does tend to outweigh everything else for her, just like an Aquarius who is the rebel of the zodiac. Aquarius is the sign that is most independent and fights ideas of destiny.

Pisces: Valerie (Red Riding Hood)

Amanda Seyfried in Red Riding Hood

There have many takes on Red Riding Hood, but Valerie as the title character provides a horror movie take that involves werewolves and a terrified village. Valerie is at the center of it as a young woman dreaming of a future for herself that she might not be able to have.

As a Pisces, she's in tune with her emotions, she's creative, and she does try to escape some of her problems - all traits of the sign.
