Doom Patrol is a superhero TV series developed by Jeremy Carver and produced by Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. The series is based on characters created for DC Comics’ superhero team of the same name.
The TV series features April Bowlby as Rita Farr, Diane Guerrero as Jane, Joivan Wade as Vic Stone, Matt Bomer and Matthew Zuk as Larry Trainor, Brendan Fraser and Riley Shanahan as Cliff Steele, and Timothy Dalton as the Chief. Michelle Gomez joined the main cast for season three, playing a shapeshifter called Madame Rouge. Skye Roberts, who plays Kay Challis — the young girl who created Jane and other identities from her trauma — also got promoted to the main cast at this time.

When Did Doom Patrol Come Out?
Doom Patrol premiered on February 15, 2019, exclusively for the DC Universe streaming service. However, viewers were given more choices in how to watch Doom Patrol for the second season, as it aired on both DC Universe and HBO Max — the two streaming services released episodes simultaneously on June 25, 2020. But the third season was released exclusively on HBO Max on September 23, 2021. In October 2021, the series was renewed again. However, there’s still no news of a release date for the fourth season.
Unlikely Heroes From Earth-21
Although Bowlby, Bomer, and Fraser reprise their roles from the TV series Titans, and both Doom Patrol and Titans are part of the Arrowverse’s multiverse, they are actually set on separate Earths. Titans takes place on Earth-9 while Doom Patrol takes place on Earth-21. Viewers can also catch Titans where they can watch Doom Patrol — on HBO Max.
Doom Patrol follows the unlikely team of superheroes who all received their powers through tragic circumstances. Unlike the Justice League, these heroes aren’t cheered on by the public. In fact, each member is generally shunned by society. Most members of the team were treated by the Chief, a medical doctor who gave them residence in his mansion to protect them from the outside world.
Jane is the dominant identity of a traumatized woman with a dissociative identity disorder. Rita Farr struggles with her overwhelming emotions to prevent her body from turning to a gelatinous state. Larry Trainor has an entity of negative energy living inside of him. Cliff Steele’s brain was placed in a robot body following a devastating car crash. Together they form Doom Patrol — and are later joined by cybernetically enhanced superhero Vic Stone. While an unusual superhero team, Doom Patrol’s adventures are just as entertaining to watch as those of other superheroes.

The 34 episodes of three seasons of Doom Patrol are currently available to watch on HBO Max. Based on the release dates of the previous seasons, it’s likely that season four of Doom Patrol will drop sometime in late 2022.
