The shout of a Mandrake Plant can be supposedly lethal in Hogwarts Legacy, and you can collect this type of plant for a slightly similar combat purpose throughout your adventures within the game's vast open world. Encountered early in the narrative in Professor Garlick's Herbology Class, Mandrakes can stun enemies in combat when they scream, giving you a respite against tougher opponents.

Mandrakes are mostly grown in the Room of Requirement, where you can purchase schematics in Hogwarts Legacy from the Tomes and Scrolls shop in Hogsmeade to build stations that support the cultivation of various plants. Potting Tables give space for various pots, as Mandrake Plants need to be grown from their seeds in a small or large pot. An easy purchase to help you in this regard involves the schematics for a Potting Table with five small pots, which costs a hefty 2,500 galleons but also gives space for five Mandrakes to be grown at once.

Where To Buy Mandrake Seeds

While three Mandrakes can be found individually in the northern section of the Forbidden Forest near a small homestead guarded by undead enemies, their seeds are far more convenient to find through the Dogweed and Deathcap shop in Hogsmeade.

You can earn a rare achievement by stunning a large group of enemies with a Mandrake Plant

According to Kibbles Gaming on Youtube, Mandrake seeds cost 800 Galleons and other plant seeds or potion ingredients that have similar pricing. You do have the option to buy singular Mandrakes for 500 Galleons but you are recommended to purchase seeds instead to ensure a larger quantity.

The only real challenge in receiving Mandrake Plants other than the initial cost revolves around finding the shop that sells them. Unlike J. Pippin's Potions or The Magic Neep, two other shops in central Hogsmeade tied heavily in potions and plants in Hogwarts Legacy, respectfully, Dogweed and Deathcap are located to the North across a river, but once you find the shop, it may easily be marked for future reference or accessed swiftly using a nearby Floo Flame fast travel spot. When you eventually get Mandrake plants or spend 10 minutes growing Mandrake seeds in Hogwarts Legacy, you will have an excellent tool for many combat situations.
