There are two primary ways to get the Metal Coat Evolution Item in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. The first way is through participating in the Auction House in Porto Marinada. For those unfamiliar, the Auction House is a location in West Province (Area Two) where Trainers can purchase various resources and materials from NPC vendors. The main disadvantage of the Auction House is that valuable items such as the Metal Coat in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet can cost anywhere between a few hundred to several thousand Pokédollars. For instance, YouTuber Erving Lanc3 demonstrated an auction for the Metal Coat in Porto Marinada. Unfortunately, once everything was said and done, they spent ₽6,000 to get the Coat. Of course, this investment in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet might sound like a good deal to some, as some evolutionary items like King's Rock cost up to ₽10,000. However, there is a much more reliable means of obtaining the Metal Coat for Scyther in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.
According to YouTube content creator Quick Tips, Trainers can visit the Delibird Presents branch in Levincia and purchase the Metal Coat for ₽3,000 in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. Unlike the Auction House, this price is constant and does not change. Nonetheless, the main drawback is that only the shop in Levincia sells this Evolution Item. Typically, the offerings of Delibird Presents are the same in every major town throughout Paldea, but Levincia is the only location that sells Metal Coats. Therefore, if Trainers do not mind traveling to the far east of the map to this region in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, they will be able to get Metal Coat without trouble.
