The dangerous Kemono hunted in Wild Hearts only get stronger throughout the game, requiring players to upgrade their weapons with materials such as Lightstone and Mirrorstone. Unlocked in the early parts of the story, these two materials expand upon the typical improvements players make to their weapons, which only demand parts from Kemono bosses at the start. Both ores are found in the world itself, but players may also find an easy way to farm these materials.

Although another resource called Corestone may be found as early as the starting region or Harugasami Way, Mirrorstone and Lightstone are not found until Chapter 2. As players think about their early weapon upgrades in Wild Hearts, they will eventually reach Akikure Canyon during the "Ancient Technology" portion of the story. Here, the first instance of Mirrorstone is found, along with Lightstone a bit later in Fuyufusagi Fort. If players were wondering how they acquire a similar material named Bluestone, they would find their answer near the end of Chapter 1 when they travel to Natsukodachi Isle.

Where To Mine Mirrorstone and Lightstone In Wild Hearts

Wild Hearts Tsukumo Ore Shrine that Collects Materials from Surrounding Area for Player at Camp Site

The easiest way to find either Mirrorstone or Lightstone would be to mine certain rock collections within areas of the map. Glowing rock formations give players a prompt to mine for resources, usually yielding at least one of the two materials needed for weapon upgrades. Incredibly commonplace around regions where players can beat bosses like Spineglider in Wild Hearts, the core of these rock groups have a different color that indicates which material it gives.

Lightstones are found in rocks with an amber-orange hue, while Mirrorstones can be discovered in formations with a yellow crystal in their center. While enough exploration around cliffs, rock faces, and other collections of stone inevitably gives players Mirrorstone and Lightstone, there are other methods to finding either material.

Players can also build a Tsukumo Ore Shrine that collects ores automatically.

Players can build the Tsukumo Ore Shrine after unlocking it during the main story to gather a few materials from around the region it was built in. Capable of gathering five resources at a time, players can quickly go to their camp once they unlock fast travel to grab the items from their shrine in between adventures.

The best places to build a Tsukumo Ore Shrine to collect Mirrorstone and Lightstone are where players first find the ores. For example, constructing an Ore Shrine in Fuyufusagi Fort likely leads to free collections of Lightstone, while a Shrine built in a camp near Akikure Canyon has a high chance of producing Mirrorstone. Even though players can find Mirrorstone and Lightstone on their own in the regions of Wild Hearts, the extra resources collected from these Shrines eases the amount of time it might take to find enough of either item to upgrade a weapon.
