Deku’s Smash is a new limited-time item introduced to Fortnite in the Fortnite x My Hero Academia event, allowing players to strike opponents down with a superpowered punch. Players can find special My Hero Academia vending machines at several spots across the island near some of Fortnite’s best landing spots this season and the locations marked on the map above. These are easy to spot, and players can spend 250 Gold Bars to purchase one. However, this can be costly in the long run. Players stand to lose a significant number of Gold Bars if they buy this item only to get eliminated before they can finish quests or score a Victory Royale.
Another option is for players to loot special All Might Supply Drops. These special supply drops will land at spots across the Fortnite island during matches, allowing players to claim their contents, including the Deku’s Smash item. Unfortunately, unlike Fortnite’s new Oathbound Chests, their landing spots are determined randomly. The YouTube channel HarryNinetyFour suggests a unique tactic that involves staying airborne after jumping from the Battle Bus and following All Might Supply Drops to their landing spots. This can be a reliable way to grab Deku’s Smash without paying Gold Bars.
The final option is for players to claim Deku’s Smash from defeated opponents. This can be tricky as there’s no way for players to tell if one of their opponents has the item unless they’re attacked with it. However, players can use a few strategies to improve their chances.
This includes keeping an eye out for players using My Hero Academia vending machines, who can be targeted with special weapons such as Fortnite’s unvaulted Snowball Launcher. Similarly, players can always sprint towards any distant firefights where they hear or see Deku’s Smash being used. Sneaky players can take advantage of these situations to finish off wounded opponents and claim one of Fortnite’s most powerful items as their own.
