When the new The Bachelor lead was announced, 26-year-old Zach Shallcross was named as the star, and it's time to talk about when the upcoming season will hit screens. He made it to the top three while competing for Rachel Recchia's affections during The Bachelorette season 19. He decided to take himself out of the competition with Rachel, after feeling like she wasn't being authentic following their fantasy suite date. When The Bachelor returns, viewers will get to watch Zach as he tries to find his wife.

According to Newsweek, viewers can watch Zach begin his The Bachelor journey to find love when the series returns on Monday, January 23, 2023. This is a later start date for the show than normal, but the producers decided to do that for a reason. Even though the show will start three weeks later than normal, viewers will still get to see all the drama (and all the tears).

Why The Bachelor 27 Is Starting Late

Even though the new season is still starting in January, it is beginning a lot later than usual, which prompted questions from viewers about why its start time was different. It seems that producers decided to go with a later start date to avoid competing for ratings with the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and Monday Night Football coverage. However, as a result, The Bachelor viewers may get more weeks of the show than they normally do.

It is unclear how long The Bachelor will run for this season, due to the scheduling shift. However, each installment usually consists of 12 episodes, which means that the show could wrap up airing towards the end of March, or perhaps towards the middle of April. Still, that is a lot more air time, as the series is usually on the air from the beginning of January until Mid-March.

Zach has been very vocal about finding his wife and settling down, and while some people think that a different lead could have been chosen, others are excited to watch his journey begin. Like always, there are bound to be tears, but love is also in the air. In fact, host Jesse Palmer said that this The Bachelor season has more love than drama. If viewers want to watch it all go down, they will just have to tune in when the season begins.
