What Is Scream VI All About?

Taking place one year after the Woodsboro killings of the fifth film, the four main survivors have moved to New York City to try to establish a new life and cope with what they have endured. Twins Chad and Mindy Meeks-Martin start college, Tara Carpenter rebels and parties in the hopes of pretending nothing happened, while her sister Sam struggles with the fact that she is the biological daughter of Billy Loomis, the original Ghostface. Complicating matters for Sam, she finds herself the target of online conspiracy theories, naming her as the mastermind of the previous killings.

But soon, the survivors discover that their ordeal is nowhere near finished, as a new Ghostface has arrived in the Big Apple, determined to continue their suffering. As the new Ghostface begins staking their murderous claim, the four must put their fears behind them if they want to survive the murderous demon. Especially as this time, there is more than one Ghostface lurking in the big city.

This sixth installment in the Scream franchise sees several returns, new additions, and a few changes in its story. There are both new and returning cast members for Scream IV. Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega reprise their roles as Sam and Tara from the previous installment, alongside Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding, returning as Mindy and Chad. While Scream fans will be disappointed that Neve Campbell will not reprise her iconic role as Sidney Prescott, they will be happy to learn that Courtney Cox is set to return to her role as Gale Weathers for the sixth time.
