Warning: Spoilers for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episode 1

Daredevil was nowhere to be found in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episode 1, though it’s no secret he’ll be showing up at some point or another. Marketing for She-Hulk’s Disney+ show has confirmed that the Phase 4 series will mark the masked vigilante’s second appearance in the Multiverse Saga. Reprising his role from Netflix’s Daredevil series, Charlie Cox officially returned to the MCU in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Details revealed at San Diego Comic-Con shed light on just how much Marvel plans to do with the Man Without Fear now that’s finally in the MCU proper. Apparently, Daredevil's cameo in No Way Home was just the beginning. A She-Hulk trailer has confirmed that he’ll have a part to play in Jennifer Walters’ MCU story, though exactly what that will be remains to be seen for the time being. In addition to having a guest (or potentially recurring) role on She-Hulk, Daredevil will be the focus of his own Disney+ show and also appear in the Hawkeye spinoff, Echo. Adding to all that is the confirmation that Cox will voice the character in the MCU prequel cartoon, Spider-Man: Freshman Year.

For now, the wait for Daredevil’s next Phase 4 appearance is still ongoing. The character wasn’t seen or mentioned in She-Hulk episode 1. Presumably, he’s off fighting crime and doing legal work elsewhere in the city. Daredevil not showing up right away makes sense, especially since episode 1’s focus was on Walters’ origin story. And, he may not be around in the next episode, either. Marvel may not find room for him until it after it’s progressed her storyline a bit and dove deeper into her own character’s journey. And based on Marvel’s track record with bringing big characters into its shows , it may be midseason before Daredevil and She-Hulk cross paths. With that said, It wouldn’t be a surprise if his arrival happens in episode 5 or 6.

What Will Daredevil’s Role in She-Hulk Be?

The obvious implication of Daredevil being in a MCU legal comedy like She-Hulk is that his expertise as a defense attorney will be a key factor. But unlike No Way Home which only featured him as blind lawyer Matt Murdock, Daredevil will appear in-costume in She-Hulk, as confirmed by the trailers for the series. And given that he’ll be clad in a red-and-yellow suit inspired by his original comic costume, it’s possible that She-Hulk’s Daredevil will still be in the earliest stages of his superhero career. As for what he’ll be up to, it’s likely that his role will relate in some ways to She-Hulk’s new job (which has been heavily teased in promos). Representing and perhaps investigating super-powered individuals could force a meeting between Marvel’s biggest superhero lawyers.

Daredevil’s upcoming appearance in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is arguably one of the most talked-about stories for the new series. While he’s already in Phase 4, he’s yet to fight crime as Daredevil, so Jennifer Walters’ show is expected to be a first for that. Plus, whatever adventure he shares with Walters should shed light on how much of his story from his Netflix series is canon, and could also serve as setup for his own Disney+ show.
