As a Warner Bros. and MGM-distributed movie, Creed 3’s streaming release has been subject to confusion, especially when pinning down an exact date for its online availability. Creed 3 is the ninth movie in the Rocky franchise and the first without Sylvester Stallone as Rocky Balboa, who has been synonymous with the film series since its debut in 1976. MGM’s Creed 3 introduces a new take on the boxing franchise as it explores an emotional reckoning with Adonis Creed’s past, with the success of the film being augmented by Jonathan Majors’ villain performance and star Michael B. Jordan’s fresh directorial debut.

Creed 3 opened to stellar reviews in theaters, proving the franchise doesn’t require Rocky Balboa to be successful. The 2023 film is also expected to follow in the footsteps of the previous two Creed movies by being a box office hit, which could lead to the announcement of another sequel in the series. As such, Creed 3 will likely enjoy a successful exclusive theatrical window before being available to watch at home on streaming.

United Artists has yet to give Creed 3 an official streaming release date, but it’s expected to hit MGM+ via Prime Video at that time. The United Artists films that premiered in theaters in late 2022 still haven’t hit Prime Video for streaming, including October’s Till, November's Bones and All, and December’s Women Talking. This delay suggests Creed 3’s streaming release date won’t arrive for several more months, potentially in summer 2023 at the earliest.

However, United Artists’ August 2022 movie Three Thousand Years of Longing hit MGM+ via Amazon Prime Video in February 2023. If more United Artists movies follow this six-month streaming release formula, then Creed 3 could hit MGM+ by September 2023. Although Creed 3 won’t be available to stream for several more months, the film will likely hit VOD for purchase or rentals at home in May 2023 based on past United Artist trends.

Where To Stream The Other Rocky & Creed Movies

Since every Rocky movie has been produced by MGM, their streaming availability is often split between Prime Video and a few other streaming platforms. Rocky (1976), Rocky II (1979), Rocky III (1982), Rocky IV (1985), and Rocky V (1990) are available to stream on Prime Video, Netflix, Paramount+, AMC+, MGM+, and Pluto TV. Rocky Balboa (2006) is available to stream on Prime Video, Paramount+, MGM+, AMC+, and Pluto TV.

In addition to being produced by MGM, the Creed movies are backed by Warner Bros., which makes their streaming availability different from the main Rocky film series. The original 2015 Creed movie and the 2018 sequel Creed II are both streaming on HBO Max and Prime Video, having been added to the services just in time for Creed 3’s March 3 premiere date. Since Warner Bros. is distributing Creed 3 internationally while United Artists is handling its US distribution, it’s unlikely that the latest boxing film will hit HBO Max for streaming anytime soon.
