WWE's women's division has been picking up steam throughout the summer, and the company might be getting one of its brightest stars back soon in Becky Lynch. Big Time Becks separated her shoulder at SummerSlam in July, getting left out of Monday Night Raw's top female storyline in the process. Bayley, IYO SKY, and Dakota Kai debuted Damage Control at that premium live event, and Lynch seemed to turn face to stand alongside Bianca Belair. That would have paid off months of character work for Becky, but unfortunately, she was injured.

She hasn't been gone for three months, but Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently reported that Lynch might be returning soon. "Lynch was at the 10/3 Raw show and there was talk she would be back soon. She has been out since July but was also said to be healing up well from her separated shoulder at SummerSlam." Meltzer also stated that, now that Ronda Rousey has been turned heel, WWE could be setting up a match between her and Lynch for WrestleMania. "The idea is that [the title change at Extreme Rules] was to complete the long-planned Rousey heel turn. Whether this leads to a match with now-face Becky Lynch, which was the plan for the 2023 WrestleMania 18 months ago, will become obvious soon."

Ronda Rousey Vs. Becky Lynch Could Headline WrestleMania 39

If Lynch does return to challenge Rousey for the SmackDown Women's Championship, there's no reason that match couldn't headline a night at WrestleMania 39. The two have a tremendous amount of history and are two of the biggest stars in WWE. A revitalized face Becky Lynch fighting against an unhinged Baddest Woman On The Planet could lead to some fantastic television, with both pushing each other's characters to new heights. This is the first opportunity Ronda Rousey has had to heel it up with Triple H in charge, and it's the most exciting presentation she's had since debuting in WWE. Likewise, Lynch's genuine slow burn face turn was tremendous, and not being able to see that paid off yet is quite the ace up the sleeve.

WWE might have the strongest women's division in professional wrestling, and Rousey has been outspoken about wanting to continue growing it on SmackDown. She recently spoke about how the females don't really get mid-card feuds or stories, while almost all of the men's division does. It's a fair criticism that Triple H already set about fixing. Lynch Vs. Rousey would be a marquee matchup between two generational stars, and WWE has to be taking a long, hard look at building toward that bout as WrestleMania 39.
