Here is when Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will release on Disney+. The launch of Disney's streaming services gives every movie from the studio two potential release windows. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever finally debuts in theaters in November 2022, giving audiences around the world a chance to see Wakanda go to war with Namor. Thanks to overwhelmingly positive reviews, the sequel is expected to be a big box office and wildly popular. But, Black Panther 2 will receive another boost in interest once it eventually releases on Disney+.

Marvel Studios and Disney have not officially announced when Black Panther 2 releases on Disney+. There is not a firm streaming release window for Disney movies that debut theatrically, as the studio makes decisions on a movie-by-movie basis, factoring in how well it is performing in theaters to how early it can find new audiences through streaming. However, the average MCU Phase 4 movie releases on Disney+ 62 days after its theatrical debut. If the high-budget Black Panther sequel follows that trend, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will release on Disney+ in January 2023.

Taking a closer look at Marvel Studios' Disney+ release date habits, there is some variance for Black Panther 2's streaming debut. The previously mentioned 62-day average does not factor in Black Widow, due to its simultaneous theatrical and streaming launch, or Spider-Man: No Way Home, which has yet to go to Disney+. The shortest turnaround for a Marvel movie heading to Disney+ is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which arrived on the streaming service just 47 days after its theatrical release. It is somewhat of an anomaly compared to the other MCU Phase 4 movies and brings the average down significantly as a result.

The rest of Marvel's Phase 4 movies were released on Disney+ at least 62 days after their theatrical releases. Thor: Love and Thunder debuted exactly 62 days after its big screen launch. Marvel waited 68 days to move Eternals to Disney+, while Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings went 70 days between its theatrical and Disney+ releases. The oddity here is that there does not appear to be any pattern to Disney's decisions. Doctor Strange 2 is the highest-grossing movie of this bunch and yet it received the shortest theatrical window, potentially costing the film a shot to become another $1 billion Marvel movie.

What's The Earliest Black Panther 2 Could Come To Disney+?

Black panther wakanda forever Namor and Shuri

The earliest that Black Panther 2 will release on Disney+ is 45 days after its theatrical release, as that is the bare minimum release window Disney has committed to for all its theatrically released titles. This means that there is a chance that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever's Disney+ release date will be December 26, a.k.a. Boxing Day. It could make some sense for Marvel to move the film to streaming during the Christmas holidays, as it would likely be a huge hit with families. Black Panther 2's box office might also have trailed off by then due to Avatar: The Way of Water's release.

That said, this would give the sequel a very small theatrical window. The original record-breaking Black Panther had very strong legs at the box office and Disney is surely counting on the sequel to be another massive hit. Giving Black Panther: Wakanda Forever an exclusive theatrical run of at least 60 days gives the studio a better chance to fully capitalize on the film's success.
