The music leans into the non-Western sound that can be heard in other modern fantasy TV series’ soundtracks, such as The Witcher and Game of Thrones. Fans of the book series will be relieved by the music, as the novels draw heavily from Asian mythology. The series, fronted by Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike, will be the next in a long line of fantasy book series adapted for modern TV, following in the successful the footsteps of Game of Thrones and Outlander, and preceding next year’s new Lord of the Rings TV adaptation. The Wheel of Time is one of the most popular and long running fantasy series of all-time, with over 90 million books sold.
