Wheel Of Time season 2 video reveals a new desert location and the crew preparing for a fight scene in Amazon Prime Video's fantasy adaptation. Based on American author Robert Jordan's massive high-fantasy novel series and developed for Prime Video by Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. alum Rafe Judkins, Wheel Of Time was renewed for a second season long before season 1 premiered in November 2021. Since then, season 2 has been filming in various parts of the world, including Prague and Morocco.

Oscar nominee Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) leads the cast of Amazon's fantasy adaptation as Moiraine Damodred, a powerful channeler and member of the Aes Sedai, alongside Daniel Henney as her traveling companion and Warder, Lan Mandragoran. Wheel Of Time follows Moiraine and Lan as they search for the Dragon Reborn, a channeler powerful enough to destroy the world or save it from the Dark One, so the prophecy says. Both the book and the show take place in a fictional world similar to Earth and season 1 introduced viewers to various fantastical locations. Now, some new footage suggests season 2 will be expanding to at least one new location.

In a tweet announcing that the second season has officially wrapped filming, The Wheel Of Time shared a video compilation of behind-the-scenes footage from the set of season 2 from the initial table read to filming actual scenes. Some of the most notable shots are of actors on horses in a new desert location and a stuntman being flipped over onto a mat while wearing a stunt wire. Check out the video below:

Judging by these quick glimpses, the new desert location appears to be the Aiel Waste. In the books, the desert region is located east of the Spine of the World and is bordered directly on the east by the vast land known as Shara. Referred to as the Three-fold Land by its natives, the wasteland is considered to be so inhospitable and harsh that only the hardened Aiel people can survive there for extended periods of time.

The existence of the Aiel Waste has been hinted at several times, but never actually shown in Amazon's adaptation. For instance, when Rand al'Thor (Josha Stradowski) meets Loial (Hammed Animashaun), the Ogier notes that he resembles the Aiel people. Considering the news that Ayoola Smart was cast to play the Aiel Maiden of the Spear named Aviendha, all signs point to the desert location playing a more prominent role in The Wheel Of Time season 2.
