Amazon’s Wheel of Time series begins filming its second season. Penned by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson, The Wheel of Time series novels became one of the best-selling fantasy series since J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings. Helm Rafe Judkins, The Wheel of Time has been in production since 2019. While details about Amazon’s adaptation have remained shrouded in mystery, The Wheel of Time has attempted to keep viewers in the loop by offering nuggets of intel from the show. These include a glance at Emond’s Field in the Two Rivers, the first look at Rosamund Pike as the lead character Moiraine Damodred, and Amazon announcing that The Wheel of Time season 1 is scheduled to premiere in 2021.

Featuring a massive cast, including Daniel Henney as al'Lan Mandragoran, Josha Stradowski as Rand al’Thor, and Zoë Robins as Nynaeve al’Meara, The Wheel of Time season 1 is expected to consist of eight episodes. The Wheel of Time novels, plus the prequel New Spring, has a solid fan base, which means Amazon has a slew of material to adapt and could easily keep the series in production for years to come. Of course, the anticipation for an official Wheel of Time trailer continues to grow. Those familiar with the beloved novels, as well as those eager to dive into a new fantasy series, have a lot to look forward to with Amazon’s adaption of The Wheel of Time.
