Six characters from The Wheel of Time book series are already confirmed to appear in season 2 of the Amazon series. The first season alone introduced dozens of characters from Robert Jordan’s novels, but in reality, it only brought in a portion of the books’ cast. As expected, Wheel of Time season 2 will build on what season 1 started.

Wheel of Time is known as a story that encompasses an extremely long list of characters. For that reason, there was no expectation for season 1 to introduce every key player. In fact, a few may be left out altogether. As for the rest, they’ll likely make their debuts gradually, not unlike how Jordan brought them into the fold in the books. Since it’s no secret that Wheel of Time season 2 is adapting parts of the second and third books in the series, several of the characters relevant to those stories are expected to be used. So far, at least some of them have been confirmed by casting reports. Here are all six Wheel of Time characters known to be joining the adventure in season 2, and who’s playing them.

6 Lord Ingtar Shinowa

Wheel of Time Great Hunt Cover Rand Loial

Greg Chillingirian has been cast as Lord Ingtar Shinowa, an important figure in The Great Hunt, the second installment in the Wheel of Time saga. As a character encountered in Fal Dara, Ingtar was set up to appear by the Wheel of Time season 1 finale. In the books, Ingtar is the leader of the group tasked with finding Padan Fain and retrieving the Horn of Valere. Fain’s theft of the Horn set this storyline in motion and is most assuredly what prompts Ingtar’s introduction in season 2. Due to the search for the Horn being the focus of The Great Hunt, Ingtar is in a position to play a major role in the episodes to come.

5 Masema Dagar

Wheel of Time

Wheel of Time season 1 ending with the majority of the cast in Fal Dara laid the groundwork for a multitude of new characters to make their debuts in season 2. One is Ingtar, while another is Masema Dagar. In the books, Masema is a Shieneran whose initial dislike for Rand grew into adoration. After developing respect for Rand, Masema became the Prophet of the Dragon, traveling Wheel of Time’s world and spreading the word about Rand’s status as the reincarnation of Lews Therin Telamon. Masema’s role as the Prophet of the Dragon allowed him to maintain a recurring presence in the books. As for his TV counterpart, he’ll be brought to life by Arnas Fedaravicius.

4 Elyas Machera

Wheel of Time Wolf Perrin Episode 5

In the first book, The Eye of the World, Perrin and Egwene came across Elyas Machera, a mysterious traveler accompanied by a pack of wolves. Possessing yellow eyes and the ability to communicate telepathically with wolves, Elyas served as a gateway for Perrin into the world of Wolfbrothers. Meeting him helped Perrin develop an understanding of his own connection to wolves and the powers he was beginning to exhibit. Curiously, Perrin and Egwene’s story in The Wheel of Time season 1 skipped this particular stop on their trip. However, he’ll still be appearing in the series regardless. Gary Beadle has reportedly been cast as the character.

Even if his introduction is coming later than expected, it’s no surprise that Elyas will be in Wheel of Time season 2. The show has already introduced Perrin’s Wolfbrother powers, but it hasn’t used the person who explained them. Given that Elyas will be on hand, there’s a good chance he’ll still fill his Eye of the World role, albeit under different circumstances. As for where he could fit, it’s possible he’ll meet Perrin and the others while they’re working to recover the Horn of Valere from Padan Fain.

3 Elayne Trakand

Ceara Coveney will play Elayne Trakand when the show returns. As things stand, Elayne is easily the biggest character still missing from the show’s version of the story. The daughter-heir of the kingdom of Andor, she is a princess who goes to the White Tower and begins her journey to become an Aes Sedai. While there, she befriends Nynaeve al’Meara and Egwene al’Vere and becomes embroiled in their adventures and the fight to stop the Dark One. Elayne’s arrival turns this duo of female channelers into a trio. Together, the three characters endure all sorts of challenges that play out across Jordan’s books.

In addition to being a protagonist in her own right, Elayne is also one of Rand al’Thor’s three main love interests. She fell in love with him after their first meeting when he accidentally fell behind the walls of the Andorian palace in Caemlyn. This event, which is what brought her into the story in the first place, occurred toward the end of The Eye of the World, meaning that it already happened at this point in the show’s narrative. Since the series never took Rand and the others to Caemlyn, there was no place for her in season 1’s story. Presumably, Rand’s first encounter with Elayne will be saved for season 2. Alternatively, Wheel of Time may have her arc start at the White Tower rather than Caemlyn with Rand.

2 Aviendha

Killing Eve Ayoola Smart

In Wheel of Time season 2, Ayoola Smart will play the role of Aviendha, another of Rand’s three love interests. First appearing at the end of the third book before becoming a key character in the fourth, Aviendha is of the Aiel race, the red-haired, desert-dwelling people connected to Rand’s Wheel of Time origin. Aviendha is a member of Maidens of the Spear, an all-female clan of spear-wielding warriors who become involved in Rand’s destiny as the Dragon Reborn. Since the show is a long way away from the point in the story where the Maidens of the Spear enter the picture, she may not arrive until the end of season 2. Or, The Wheel of Time may move things around in order to speed up her introduction.

1 Turak Aladon

Wheen of Time Seanchans

It’s been reported that Daniel Francis has been cast as High Lord Turak Aladon for Wheel of Time season 2. Turak is a minor character in The Wheel of Time and a secondary antagonist in The Great Hunt’s Horn of Valere story. Representing the villainous Seanchan Empire, Turak acts as one of their highest-ranking military commanders. He comes into conflict with Rand’s group in The Great Hunt when Padan Fain presents him with the Horn. The Wheel of Time opened the door for Turak to show up in a season 2 episode when it provided a glimpse at an invading Seanchan armada in the finale.
