In The Wheel of Time episode 4, Logain Ablar (Álvaro Morte), a man who proclaims himself the Dragon Reborn, can hear voices while channeling the One Power - here's who these shadows could be and what they say about the character of Logain. At the end of Wheel of Time episode 3, it was revealed that Logain had been captured by the Aes Sedai. The beginning of episode 4 explains why - Logain had led a siege against Ghealdan and is a powerful channeler of the One Power, making him a formidable opponent and a dangerous enemy, but one who sees shadows and hears voices.

During his siege of Ghealdan, Logain is conflicted when it comes to killing the nation's king (Miguel Alvarez). At first, it seems like he may kill the king using his dark version of the One Power and shadows appear next to him as dark manifestations of his abilities, convincing him to kill Ghealdan's leader. In his efforts to be The Wheel of Time's Dragon Reborn and maintain a noble path, though, he rebukes the voices and invites the king to fight by his side. Still, the shadows that appear next to Logain are a threat to his sanity and who and what they are is important to the lore of The Wheel of Time.

Men who can channel the One Power in The Wheel of Time are destined to lose their sanity, something that makes them dangerous when it comes to their access to the magical elements of the universe. The shadows that haunt Logain are a physical manifestation of this plight and typically they drive men who can channel to do terrible things like killing innocents. Rather than the shadows being a sign of power and proving he is the Dragon Reborn, they prove he is the False Dragon, signaling the beginning of him losing his grip on sanity. In the Wheel of Time books, the previous Dragon Reborn, Lews Therin Telamon, hears the voice of his dead wife just before breaking the world. It's possible that the shadow and voices that Logain hears are imagined manifestations of dead family members or others that had a relationship with him.

Prime Video lists one of the shadow characters as Elusha Salid (voiced by Rebecca Tanwen) and in talking to him, it's clear that there is a relationship there. More important, though, is the fact that Logain is hearing these voices and this is indicative of the fact that his grip on sanity is slipping, making him more dangerous than ever. If and when he were to reach a point where he could no longer control his darker impulses, Logain could potentially risk turning to the Dark One's side.

After the events of Wheel of Time episode 4, though, that should no longer be a problem. By the end of the latest entry, Logain is gentled by the Aes Sedai, cutting him off from the One Power and robbing him of his ability to channel. Still, Logain has an important role to play in the events of The Wheel of Time, and even though he can no longer channel he will be integral in the battle against the Dark One. The shadows controlling Logain in The Wheel of Time episode 4 are more indicative of the dangers men who can channel face and this portends bad things for the series' main characters.
