The Wheel of Time cast brought the popular Robert Jordan series to life on Prime Video and these characters are just as expansive as the world in which they live. Robert Jordan's series began in 1990 with The Eye of the World, predating modern fantasy sagas like George R.R. Martin's Game of Thrones series and taking a page out of J.R.R. Tolkien's influential Lord of the Rings trilogy. The Wheel of Time follows an Aes Sedai, Moraine Damodred, as she embarks on a journey to find the Dragon Reborn. Filming on the series began in late 2019, and the first season aired on Prime Video in 2021.

The first season of Wheel of Time ended on a major cliffhanger, with Moiraine leading Rand, the Dragon Reborn, to battle the Dark One. However, things didn't work out as well as planned. First, Rand, the Dragon Reborn, won his battle, but it seems that things have yet to end. Both Rand and Moiraine realized the final battle had yet to be fought. Furthermore, it appeared the battle had afflicted Rand with the "madness" that all who tough the One Power succumbs to, so he asked to remain behind, so he couldn't hurt anyone he loved. Finally, Moiraine lost her connection to the One Power, so the most powerful member of the Wheel of Time cast heads into season 2 at a disadvantage.

This leads them to Emond's Field, a small village that has been isolated from the rest of the world. However, the twist was that the Dark One cut her from the One Power at the end of Wheel of Time's first season. The actress playing Moiraine is one of the more well-known names on the Wheel of Time cast. Rosamund Pike has had a long and illustrious career, and is perhaps best known for her Oscar-nominated role as Amy Dunne in David Fincher's Gone Girl and as Bond girl Miranda Frost in Die Another Day.
