The WhatsApp web application has a built-in sticker maker, allowing users to create their own custom stickers on the web. The feature has long been available on iOS and Android via third-party applications with the ability to turn normal images into stickers that can then be sent through WhatsApp. Stickers are simply another way to express oneself on the platform along with text, emoji, images, videos, and audio messages.

Messaging clients are heavily country-dependent, and many countries appear to have already decided on their default messaging clients. For example, in North America WhatsApp is less common with users tending to prefer iMessage, SMS, Discord, and Facebook Messenger. In other countries, however, Telegram and Viber are often more common. Most of the time, which messenger solutions someone uses will come down to the ones their friends and family are using.

The ability to make stickers for WhatsApp is also available on iOS and Android through third-party applications. However, a built-in feature is always likely to be a better option than having to download another app. The web version allows for more precise editing and control with a mouse pointer versus having to use a finger. To access the sticker maker, click on the paperclip icon, select Sticker, and then choose an image to upload. From there, the image can then be edited before it is used. For example, and as The Verge points out, an outline can be used to remove the background. Users can also add additional stickers, emojis, and text to their shiny new sticker.

WhatsApp Is Always Improving

WhatsApp Losing Support For These Devices in November 2021

While using stickers through the web version is handy, WhatsApp is always in the process of adding new features and improving the experience. A recent addition that's currently being tested is the ability to delete messages for everyone. This a feature all messaging platforms should offer, but the vast majority still don't. The company has also been testing the ability to use multiple devices without a primary device (typically a smartphone) needing to be connected to the internet.

Another benefit of WhatsApp over other messaging apps is end-to-end encryption. All of the messages sent and received are encrypted. This is also the case for any WhatsApp backups that are stored in the cloud, and whether they are stored using iCloud or Google Drive. All of which not only makes WhatsApp an immensely popular service, but also one of the most private and secure messaging services around.
