The talented cast of endearing characters in What We Do In The Shadows season 3 is key to the show's success — but what other roles are the actors known for? The third installment of the FX hit show WWDITS premiered on September 2, 2021, bringing back some familiar faces and introducing a few new ones too.

What We Do In The Shadows is a mockumentary-style comedy series, but with a distinctly supernatural spin. The basic premise of the series is that a documentary is being filmed of four vampires living in Staten Island. The show features a mundane approach to the extraordinary, deriving humor from its spectacular, other-worldly beings struggling with contemporary technology and petty, interpersonal conflicts. The series is a spin-off of Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement's vampire-inspired comedy, also titled What We Do In The Shadows.

So far, What We Do In The Shadows season 3 has been as creative and hilarious as previous installments. The first two installments confirmed that at least two notable vampires survived the blood bath at the end of the season 2 finale, although more could be confirmed at a later date. The following is the cast of one of the funniest shows on TV, What We Do In The Shadows, season 3 cast, including other roles the actors are known for.

Kayvan Novak as Nandor the Relentless

Kayvan Novak plays Nandor the Relentless in What We Do In The Shadows, the eldest — and arguably sweetest — of the four main vampires. Nandor was a bloodthirsty warrior in his human life, but at over 700 years old, he's begun to soften in his old age. Nandor acts as head of the household and is in charge of his familiar, Guillermo (who often performs duties for the other vampires as well). Novak is an actor and comedian, best known for Fonejacker, which he co-created and starred in. He also played Waj in the 2010 comedy Four Lions.

Matt Berry as Leslie "Laszlo" Cravensworth

Laszlo in What We Do In The Shadows

Matt Berry is in peek comedic form playing Laszlo, the most lascivious member of the group. In What We Do In The Shadows, Laszlo is romantically paired with Nadja (but is always up for experimenting). He is the least ambitious, and most hedonistic, member of the group. Berry is probably best known for his roles in the hit comedy series The IT Crowd and the short-lived (but much loved) Garth Marenghi's Darkplace. He also co-created and starred in Toast of London. Berry may also be recognized by his distinct voice, which he's lent to a number of animated characters, including the piggish (literally) Prince Merkimer in Disenchantment.

Natasia Demetriou as Nadja

Nadja bares her fangs in What We Do in the Shadows.

The comedian and writer Natasia Demetriou is probably best known to American audiences as Nadja in What We Do In The Shadows, the feisty Romani vampire wife of Laszlo; however, she's had a number of other roles in UK productions. Demetriou appeared in Stath Lets Flats, which was created by her brother Jamie Demetriou. She also wrote and starred in the critically acclaimed sketch show Ellie and Natasia.

Harvey Guillén as Guillermo De la Cruz

WWDITS Guillermo

The ever-suffering familiar in What We Do In The Shadows, Guillermo De La Cruz, is played by Harvey Guillén. Guillermo is Nandor's familiar, and he harbors strong (although largely unspoken) feelings for his vampire master. The young man desperately wants to become a vampire himself; however, Guillermo comes from a long line of legendary vampire hunters, including Van Hellsing. Guillén previously appeared in the television series Huge, Eye Candy, and The Magicians, as well as the 2013 comedy movie The Internship.

Mark Proksch as Colin Robinson

Mark Proksch plays Colin Robinson, an energy vampire in What We Do In The Shadows. The TV spin-off introduced Colin as a new kind of supernatural predator: a day walker who feeds off of energy by frustrating, boring, or otherwise upsetting those around him. Colin is a bit more aware of contemporary ideas than the others, but his general demeanor tends to isolate him from those around him. Proksch has appeared in several notable TV roles, including Nate, Dwight Schrute's lackey, in The Office, Pryce in Better Call Saul, and Todd in Son of Zorn.

Kristen Schaal as The Guide ("The Floating Woman")

The hilarious Kristen Schaal returns in What We Do In The Shadows season 3 as The Guide — aka "The Floating Woman." In the season premiere, she informs Nandor and co. that she comes with a message from her superior at the Vampire Council, Viago. After the group is told that they are now in charge of the Vampire Council, it is The Guide's role to acquaint them with their new responsibilities. Schaal has been in several comedies over the years, but is probably most easily recognized by her distinct voice, which she's lent to animated programs like Bob's Burgers, Gravity Falls and BoJack Horseman. Schall also appeared alongside Jermaine Clement as Mel in Flight of the Conchords.

Taika Waititi as Viago von Dorna Schmarten Scheden Heimburg: Taika Waititi's vampire Viago returned in the What We Do In The Shadows season 3 premiere (on VHS tape) to deliver a message on behalf of the greater Vampire Council. Viago was one of the main vampires in the original movie, and has cameoed on the spinoff a couple of times. Waititi is mostly known for his successes as a writer and director, although he often appears in his work. Waititi directed Thor: Ragnarok (and voiced Korg), and wrote and directed (and starred in) Jojo Rabbit.

Anthony Atamanuik as Sean: Atamanuik plays Sean, the human neighbor who lives next door. He appears briefly in a flashback when the vampires are discussing the brain scramblies. Atamanuik is probably best known for parodying the former U.S. President Donald Trump on The President Show.

Lauren Collins as Meg: Meg, Nandor's crush who works at the 24-hour gym, is played by Lauren Collins. Collins is probably best known for her playing Paige on Degrassi: The Next Generation, as well as Kroll Show and Impulse.

Tyler Alvarez as Wes Blankenship: Alvarez plays Wes Blankenship, a young vampire in the Tri-State area who founded a rival Vampire Council. Alvarez has appeared in American Vandal, Orange is the New Black, and Never Have I Ever.

Nabil Rajo as Dave Lewis: Rajo portrays another energy vampire, Dave, who talks endlessly about cannabidiol (CBD) products in order to feed off of other's energy.

New episodes of What We Do In The Shadows release Thursdays weekly on FX.
