The return of What We Do In The Shadows finally provides a clearer answer to which vampires survived the season 2 finale. Season 2, Episode 10, "Nouveau Théâtre des Vampires" established itself as a game-changing installment of the immensely popular FX series as Guillermo leans into his Van-Helsing heritage and rescues Nandor, Nadja, and Lazlo from certain death. Along with Colin Robinson, Guillermo frees his friends from the clutches of the vampiric council, massacring many vampires in the process.

Season 3 of What We Do In The Shadows throws up some interesting conundrums for Guillermo and the Staten Island vampires following the Nouveau Théâtre des Vampires events. While Nandor, Nadja, and Lazlo are in Guillermo's debt, they are also now acutely aware (and fearful) of his impressive skills as a vampire hunter. These skills have left a power vacuum in the New York vampire world, with many of the original vampiric council dead by Guillermo's hand.

Nandor, Colin, and Nadja fighting over the Vampiric Council's singular throne displays the dearth of prominent vampires still active in the New York area. While celebrity council vampires Tilda Swinton, Danny Trejo, and Evan Rachel Wood are assumedly confirmed dead by the new council appointments, there are still those outside of the main Staten Island quartet that have managed to endure. Here's every other notable vampire who survived the season 2 finale of What We Do In The Shadows.

Vladislav The Poker

Jermaine Clement's Vlad The Impaler send-up featured prominently in the Nouveau Théâtre des Vampires finale, presenting the beginning of the performance ceremony that would see Nandor, Nadja, and Lazlo burned alive by sun exposure. Despite being the focal point onstage when Guillermo enacts his rescue plan, Vladislav escapes the theatre unharmed as he exits stage-right. A key character in the What We Do In The Shadows film written by Clement and Taika Waititi, Vladislav is sure to appear in more cameos as a fan-favorite Wellington original.

Viago von Dorna Schmarten Scheden Heimburg

Viago has already returned in What We Do In The Shadows season 3, bearing a fortuitous VHS message for the Staten Island vampires. Assumedly having returned to Wellington after escaping the theatre massacre, Taika Waititi's Viago cameo delivers startling news through the tape that Lazlo, Nandor, Nadja, and Colin will be the new vampiric council due to the fact they "know how to get things done" after killing "37 or 38 vampires." With legendary vampires such as Tilda and Baron Afanas already dead by Guillermo's hand, Viago represents an enduring center of power in the world's vampiric hierarchy, something that may come into play as season 3 progresses.

Simon The Devious

One significant absentee from the Théâtre des Vampires massacre was Simon The Devious, who ordinarily cannot resist a chance to gloat at his fellow vampires. Simon was last seen sinking beneath a sewer grate after his Leather Skins gang refused to save him, with Lazlo also managing to reclaim his witch-skin hat in the process. While Big Mouth star Nick Kroll's character's whereabouts and fate are unknown following these events, there's a good chance he will make a swift return to What We Do In The Shadows season 3.

The Guide (Floating Woman)

Kristen Schaal's Floating Woman is so far a prominent feature of season 3, acting as the bearer of Viago's news regarding the vampiric council. Her durability is clear to see despite having served hundreds of prior councils, as she easily repels Guillermo's stakes before she takes physical form and addresses the vampires in the house during season 3, episode 1. Having also acted as a guide for the vampires as they explore the Vampiric Council building, A Walk In The Woods actor Schaal's Floating Woman looks like she is here to stay. However, she is none too happy that Nandor, Lazlo, and Nadja are now her superiors, with her fondness for Viago's rule sure to cause conflict further down the line.

Jim The Vampire

Last seen in the Jackie Daytona debut episode, Jim was finally at peace coaching women's volleyball in Pennsylvania before realizing Lazlo had conned him out of rent money once again. The longing for recompense drove Mark Hammill's Jim for over 150 years, so his reappearance at the vampire house cannot be discounted. Hammill has previously tweeted his love for What We Do In The Shadows, celebrating season 3's return, so a follow-up duel with Lazlo and a possible Jackie Daytona spinoff looks increasingly likely.

Jenna

Jenna sits outside in a pink jacket in What We Do in the Shadows.

The LARPER-virgin turned vampire has not appeared since season 1, but this could simply be due to her rare powers of invisibility, which mirrored her meek nature in mortal life. Jenna and Nadja certainly shared a bond during season 1 of What We Do In The Shadows, with Nadja monitoring her ascent to undeath and teaching her to feed before they shared a brief sunrise. With Nadja moving on to other fascinations, such as the Nadja doll and the seat of power in season 3, bringing Jenna back would be a timely distraction for Nadja of Antipaxos to face.

Wesley The Daywalker

An amazingly candid pop-culture reference and a big slice of fanservice, Wesley Snipes' appearance as Blade on the vampiric council cemented "The Trial" as one of the standout What We Do In the Shadows episodes. Given Wesley was attending all council meetings via Skype even before Guillermo's massacre, he is assumedly still alive. As Blade, Wesley was a cut above other vampires in his canon, so it will be interesting to see whether or not the What We Do In The Shadows showrunners bring him back in a more present capacity, given Wesley would likely bear a great deal of ill will towards the main characters.
