What We Do In The Shadows has a season 3 premiere date set for this September. What We Do In The Shadows is an FX series that acts as a spinoff of the Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement directed mockumentary of the same name. The film was adapted to television by Clement, with both Waititi and himself credited with producing, writing, and even acting in episodes. The show first premiered on March 27, 2019, where it quickly won over critics and audiences with the same absurd humor as the film.

The series features the same mockumentary style as the source material, which is utilized to great comedic effect. It centers around three vampires who have lived together on Staten Island for over 100 years. As they go about their everyday lives, they run into a multitude of hilarious situations, most of which stem from their ineptitude in navigating the modern world. The cast of What We Do In The Shadows includes Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou, and Kayvan Novak as the three main vampires. Mark Proksch stars as a psychic vampire whom none of the others like, and Harvey Guillén stars as Guillermo, a familiar of Novak's Nandor.

In a slew of announcements that included updates for American Horror Story and Y: The Last Man, FX Networks confirmed on Twitter that season 3 of What We Do In The Shadows will premiere on September 2 on FX and on Hulu the next day. In keeping with the humorous tone of the show, they told audiences to "dust of your velvet capes and grab the glitter." After two successful seasons, they sound excited to bring the show back for a third. Check out the tweet below:

Season 2 ended with Guillermo putting on an epic display of his vampire-killing prowess as he laid waste to most of the Vampiric Council. While there are no details on what season 3 will entail, it's likely to pick up with that storyline. The Vampiric Council will want revenge for what happened to their members, which will put Guillermo and the vampire roommates in a very precarious situation.

The show has already featured some amazing talent in its roster of guest stars. Evan Rachael Wood, Danny Trejo, Tilda Swinton, Nick Kroll, and Craig Robinson have all appeared. Wesley Snipes also popped up in an episode in a nod to his portrayal of Marvel Comics vampire slayer, Blade. Season 2 even featured Mark Hamill as an antagonist named Jim the Vampire. With talent like Waititi and Clement behind the project, it's likely that securing top-tier talent is made a bit easier for the show. With an official release date set, more details and footage of What We Do In The Shadows season 3 will follow in the months leading up to the premiere later this year.
