Fans burned through season 4 of Cobra Kai in record time, lapping up all of the karate goodness of the 30+-years-later sequel series to The Karate Kid. And while the show has already been renewed for a fifth season, and writers even confirm they are working on a season 6 should a renewal beyond that happen, fans are anxiously awaiting the next chapter in the story.
Season 4 left a lot of lingering issues, from Tory's discovery that the All-Valley Tournament was fixed to Miguel's surprising departure to find his father. Whatever direction the story goes, there are a few things that fans want to see happen.
Daniel And Chozen Restart Miyagi-do
Despite Daniel and Johnny making a deal with Kreese and Terry that they would stop teaching karate if they lost the All-Valley tournament, it was clear in the final scene that Daniel had no intention of honoring a deal with people that he felt lacked honor anyway.
With the surprise appearance of Chozen at Mr. Miyagi's grave, it seems he either knows what has been going on, was called by Daniel to help, or sensed it was time to come to lend a hand, believing Daniel could use one. Daniel and Chozen on the same side would make a formidable team that viewers would love.
Tory And Sam Become Friends
By the end, Tory, one of the biggest villains on Cobra Kai, seemed to finally be opening up and accepting help from others to take some of the burden off herself in her personal life. She has also begun to recognize how harmful her actions were. However, Sam understandably didn't see her motives as being genuine.
While the two have made one of the fiercest rivalries on Cobra Kai, fans would still like to see them come together eventually and forgive. Doing so could add even more power to the "hero" side of the story as they attempt to fight back against Terry.
There's A Fair All-Valley Rematch
With most of the kids about to turn 18, it would mean they would no longer qualify for the Under-18 All-Valley Tournament. If Tory reveals the secret that the match was fixed, it could allow for a redo, and a chance for season 5 to end with another tournament involving the same kids.
It would only be fair, after all, to give Tory a chance to inch out a win on her own merits, without any nefarious interference. She made it clear that she wanted to win to be able to say that she earned something all on her own. And she deserves at least that.
Anthony LaRusso Learns Karate
Anthony LaRusso was a big part of season 4, and it was revealed that his closest friends don't know that he never learned karate, assuming that because of who his father is and what his sister knows that he must be trained as well.
He finally expressed interest in learning, so it's possible the next All-Valley Tournament could include Anthony, Kenny, and others among the younger generation of kids on the show. It would make sense for Anthony to follow in his father and older sister's footsteps.
Kenny Becomes A Good Guy
Fans immediately liked Kenny, one of the best Cobra Kai characters introduced after season 1, and began to sympathize with him when he was bullied. They even cheered for him as he learned karate in order to stand up for himself. But Kenny started to turn into someone he was not, unwilling to accept Anthony's seemingly genuine apology.
Fans want to see Kenny redeemed, and Robby could be a big part of his redemption story. If Robby isn't able to make Kenny realize the negative influence Cobra Kai has on him, however, Kenny could become one of the bigger villains on the show as he gets stronger and more confident.
Eli And Moon Get Back Together
Moon seemed good for Eli, even though he was at his worst as "Hawk" when he was with her. But it was her pep talk before the All-Valley Tournament that helped give him the confidence to win. It was her words that made him realize she liked him for who he was and his confidence, and not his hair or tattoos.
With Moon newly single and seemingly interested in getting back with Eli, they would make a wonderful couple that complements one another.
Johnny And Carmen Stay Together
Johnny and Carmen have one of the best relationships on Cobra Kai. Fans love how Carmen helps bring out the best in Johnny, who tries to do better when he's around her. But at the same time, she also accepts him for who he is and sees his goodness behind the gruff. And she never asks him to change.
Johnny, meanwhile, seems genuinely the happiest when he's with Carmen. He truly cares for her and realizes what he has. It would be a shame to see them break-up, or for anything to come between them.
Terry Is Punished
Every villain needs to get their punishment eventually, as John Kreese did at the end of season 4 when he was set up and arrested for the one crime he ironically didn't commit. Terry will likely be the big villain of season 5 now that he has not only taken over Cobra Kai, but has the means and intention to expand the business.
It's possible that, if the show is renewed beyond season 5, Terry could remain the core baddie. But fans hope he at least experiences some type of punishment in the new season.
Miguel Finds His Father
Miguel left to find his father who, unbeknownst to him, doesn't even know he exists. With Carmen explaining to Johnny that his father was a very "bad guy," things could go sideways quickly.
Fans hope that Miguel does find his father and the meeting goes well. More so, they hope Johnny goes to Mexico to locate Miguel and bring him back home. Chances are that will happen, and Johnny will have to throw a few kicks and punches along the way.
The Return Of Mike Barnes
Many characters from the original Karate Kid movies have returned to Cobra Kai, but one that hasn't been seen yet is Mike Barnes, who appeared in the third movie. Terry told John Kreese right before the cops came to take him away that he had a few people he could call to help him run the business.
Fans will recall that Mike was hired by Terry to beat Daniel in Karate Kid III, offering him half ownership of his new dojos. Mike went on to terrorize Daniel, who admitted that Mike was one of his most difficult opponents ever. The character was played by Sean Kanan, who has been acting steadily since the movie, most recently in the pilot episode of the show Studio City and in the movie Survive the Game. So, it's possible he could return.
