April 2nd has another exciting Wordle word ready for players to guess. For many people, Wordle is the best part of a morning routine, and the game has continued to gain popularity throughout 2022 with its once-a-day puzzles, simple gameplay, and competitive-like social media sharing ability. Little colored emoji boxes continue to litter the social media landscape with players showing off how fast they won today's game, or how heartbreaking it was to lose it.
Though not an overly common word, today's answer is used often in the literary world. Players with long-running streaks should be safe with today's answer, there doesn't seem to be any of the normal Wordle tricks at play. No repeated letters and fairly common vowels should make for an easy 'win and continue on with the day'. Everyone could use a little help to get the correct answer sometimes and below are a few hints to help out anyone struggling with today's Wordle.

Today's Wordle Answer (April 2nd #287)
The April 2nd Wordle answer is TROPE.
A trope is a figurative or nonliteral use of a word or expression, the most common being irony or metaphor. "These kids are buzzing around like little bees" is an example, the children aren't actually bees, but the image is created in a reader's mind. Tropes can also represent things that have been used so many times that they become cliche. Harry Potter is an example, he represents the literary trope of "The Chosen One". If you see a character wearing a cape, you might think superhero since that is a common trope in the comics industry.
For today's starting Wordle word we used ROAST, which gave us plenty of information, an incorrectly placed 'R', 'O', and 'T'. Our second attempt was TROOP, this gave us all the correct placements for the previously guessed letters and a single incorrectly placed 'P'. With only one place available for the 'P' it was quite easy to get the correct answer, TROPE, in three guesses. Our attempt today just helps prove how important a strong starting word is for Wordle success.
