What If...?'s Thanos-armored Gamora has gotten an impressively detailed cosplay. The animated anthology show, based on the comic book series of the same name, premiered on Disney+ back in 2021, exploring the multiverse and various realities within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. What If...? season 1 took some of the most familiar moments from the MCU and reintroduced them to audiences by revealing what could have happened if certain events in each timeline played out differently. Gamora, depicted in the live-action Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers films, appeared in episode 9, and viewers were quick to notice the significance of her suit, as she was shown wearing Thanos' armor and using his sword.

Portrayed as a Guardian of the Multiverse, What If...?'s Gamora raised a lot of questions related to her story and how she defeated Thanos.

Audiences enjoyed seeing her wear his armor, though, and one cosplay artist with the username graciethecosplaylass shared a detailed look at Gamora's suit, as well as her weapon, from the episode. Posted to her Instagram, the image, taken by benjamin_farren, reveals what this version of the character could look like in live-action. Check out the photo below:

Will Gamora Appear In What If Season 2?

What if Episode 9 Gamora

In What If...?'s season finale, the Watcher found Gamora and Tony Stark melting the Infinity Gauntlet, referring to her as the survivor of Sakaar and destroyer of Thanos. Teaming up with others, including Captain Carter, Killmonger, and Thor, she was tasked with saving the multiverse from an enhanced and powerful Ultron by getting rid of the Soul Stone. What caught audiences' attentions is that every other Guardian of the Multiverse got their own episode in What If...?, except Gamora, leading many to wonder if season 2 would feature more of her.

It had been revealed that Gamora was supposed to get an episode with Tony, which would have made their appearance in What If...? episode 9 make sense, but due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was pushed back. What If...?'s creator, A.C. Bradley, shared that it would not have been completed in time, but assured fans that it would be incorporated into season 2. Bradley also said that the episode will show how Gamora got Thanos' armor and how she and Tony became friends.

What If...? season 2 does not currently have a release date, but audiences can anticipate it to return to the streaming platform sometime this year. The animated series explored more individual stories within the MCU's multiverse, and with that concept highlighted even further in projects like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, fans should be excited to see what other possibilities exist. It will also be interesting to see if Gamora and the rest of the Guardians of the Multiverse come together again, or if the Watcher chooses not to interfere. Director Bryan Andrews teased new characters and stories this time around, so audiences can be sure to tune into What If...? season 2 when it arrives.
