Warning! This article contains spoilers for Andor episode 10.Andor episode 10 culminated in Cassian and Melshi escaping Narkina 5's prison, begging the question of what happens to both after this point. As is known from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, both characters go on to serve as vital parts of the Rebel Alliance and are instrumental in the theft of the Death Star plans on Scarif. With that being said, Andor season 1 is set in 5BBY, five years before the events of Rogue One, leaving many to wonder what happens to the duo going into the remainder of Andor season 1 and Andor season 2.

Andor's future has been somewhat fleshed out in a one-shot comic that centers on his first meeting with K2SO, likely to be shown in Andor season 2, which promises to lead directly into Rogue One. However, some scenes from the trailer for Andor could point towards where he and Melshi may end up in the final two episodes of season 1, as it hints at a full-scale rebellion taking place on Ferrix. Through Cassian's newfound friendship with Melshi, the duo could return to Ferrix together and assist in the rebellion against the Empire. With Cinta also on Ferrix, Cassian could reunite with Luthen, leading to him and Melshi moving closer to joining the fledgling Rebel Alliance.

What We Know Of Cassian & Melshi's Story Between Andor & Rogue One

Cassian and Melshi escaping in Andor episode 10

As mentioned, one of the main aspects of Cassian's life that is known to take place between Andor and Rogue One is his meeting with K2SO. At some point between the two stories, Andor is officially enlisted into the Rebel Alliance by General Davits Draven and becomes a captain in the Alliance's intelligence branch. One of his missions involved being sent to the planet Wecacoe to steal Imperial data, where he wiped the memory of a KX-series security droid. This droid was K2SO who, after being reprogrammed, embarked on many Rebellion missions with Cassian before the events of Rogue One.

With regard to Melshi, though, all that is known of his story after his introduction in episode 8, 9, and now Andor episode 10 is that he joined the Rebel alliance at some point. Melshi joined during the early days of the Galactic Civil War and held the rank of Sergeant in the Alliance's Pathfinders special forces unit due to his experience as an undercover soldier. Due to Melshi's expertise, he made additions to the rebel field manual, alerting his comrades to the different variations of Imperial stormtroopers. Eventually, Melshi operated out of Yavin 4 and was one of the Alliance's seasoned veterans at the time of Rogue One.

Andor Makes Cassian & Melshi's Rogue One Stories Even Better

Cassian Melshi Escape Narkina 5

One thing that Andor certainly does is make the duo's story in Rogue One even better, specifically with Melshi. As not a lot is known about Melshi's life before Rogue One, establishing his history with Cassian after their building work in Andor's prison, his hatred of the Empire, and his motivations for fighting for the Rebellion throughout Rogue One only makes his journey in that film all the better. Also, only small details are known of Cassian's life, meaning Andor has the opportunity to greater flesh out his character as has been the case thus far. All of this, on top of establishing a starting point for Cassian and Melshi's bond that comes to fruition in Rogue One when both choose to fight alongside Jyn, makes the focus Andor has on the duo even better in retrospect.
