What happens to Arisu and Usagi after Alice in Borderland season 2 is a question that the Alice in Borderland and Alice and Borderland Retry manga can help answer. Alice in Borderland season 2’s finale seemly concluded the show’s story, but there is more to Arisu and Usagi’s journeys even though the main conflict has already been resolved. Whether Alice in Borderland season 3 will happen is difficult to say, as Netflix’s Alice in Borderland has now adapted the entirety of the manga. If Alice in Borderland does not return for season 3, viewers can rest assured that the main story has already been told.
Alice in Borderland season 2’s ending followed the Alice in Borderland manga ending quite closely, meaning that it doesn’t leave a lot of room for an Alice in Borderland season 3. That said, the Joker card at the end of Alice in Borderland season 2 was not exactly something from the manga, and it hinted at a Joker game for Alice in Borderland season 3. Alice in Borderland’s story does continue in the manga, but in a more self-contained sequel that reveals what happened to Arisu and Usagi after everything they went through during the events of Alice in Borderland.
Arisu & Usagi End Up Together After Alice In Borderland
Alice in Borderland season 2, which could work as the show’s final season, ended with a tease that Arisu and Usagi would get together in the real world. That is indeed what happens in the source material, as Arisu and Usagi get married as revealed by the Alice in Borderland manga sequel Alice in Borderland Retry. The Alice in Borderland sequel takes place a few years after Arisu wakes up in the real world, and it sees the character returning to Borderland. Alice in Borderland Retry also reveals that Arisu went on to become a psychologist, most likely inspired by the Queen of Hearts and his conversation with Alice in Borderland’s Joker.
Usagi, inspired by her father’s career, continued to practice mountaineering. As Usagi promised Arisu during their time at Borderland, the duo went on mountaineering together a few times – although they didn’t exactly remember those promises. A few years after Alice in Borderland’s ending, Arisu and Usagi become parents. That is in fact the starting point for Alice in Borderland Retry’s story, with Arisu having to get back home as quickly as possible to help with Usagi is about to give birth. Apart from the Joker card tease, Alice in Borderland season 2’s shocking ending can be seen as a happy one, especially considering the Alice in Borderland Retry manga.
Do Arisu & Usagi Ever Remember What Happened In Borderland?
Arisu and Usagi do not remember what happened by the end of Alice in Borderland season 2, and the same is true at the end of the Alice in Borderland manga. Arisu and Usagi never remembered what happened in Borderland, including the fact that their love started there. The only exception happens in Alice in Borderland Retry in which, after suffering an accident while heading to the hospital to see Usagi, Arisu gets sent back to Borderland and remembers everything that had happened during the original Borderland battle royale games. However, once Arisu clears the Nine of Hearts game, he once again wakes up in the real world with no memories of Borderland.
