Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Pam & Tommy

As depicted in Pam & Tommy, the whirlwind marriage of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee was one of the most tumultuous relationships in Hollywood. As a result, it's perhaps inevitable that there are serious questions about what happened to the couple after their divorce. Since the Hulu limited series focused on the theft and illegal distribution of Anderson and Lee’s private tape, it only hinted at the events following their relationship’s demise. Regardless, it still managed to shed light on their sensitive past and trigger conversations on celebrities’ right to privacy. Naturally, Pam & Tommy piqued the viewers’ curiosity, leaving them wondering what occurred in real life after the show’s events ended.

Both in the prime of their lives in the ‘90s, the rising actress starred in Baywatch, while the rock star created music with his Grammy-nominated band, Mötley Crüe. Thanks to Lee’s relentless pursuit, the couple got together in Cancun, six weeks after they first met on New Year’s Eve 1994. Anderson and Lee got married impulsively four days later, sporting tattoos of each other’s names on their ring fingers. Unfortunately, because of their celebrity status, the newlyweds became the object of public interest and scrutiny. This was further heightened by the leak of their stolen private tape that fueled a series of controversies, rejections, and lawsuits. Although Anderson and Lee tried to remain committed to their family, their relationship eventually broke down when the latter was arrested for spousal abuse in 1998. While Lee was incarcerated for six months, Anderson filed for divorce.

Despite the numerous scandals surrounding their romance, Anderson and Lee found themselves still coming back to each other. In fact, although they were technically divorced, the couple reconnected after Lee’s release from prison. This three-year reunion ended in 2001, and for a while, they led separate lives. Lee and Anderson, whose career was impacted by the tape, became involved with short-lived engagements and marriages. When their individual relationships ended, the two remarried in 2008 and reunited their family once more. Two years later, what was seemingly another shot at happiness led to another divorce, ending their on-again, off-again relationship for good.

Following her divorce from Lee, Anderson had been married three times — with poker player Rick Salomon, film producer Jon Peters, and bodyguard Dan Hayhurst. Professionally, because the acting career she hoped to have with the aid of the 1996 comic-book movie Barb Wire never exploded, her appearances in films and TV shows were only limited. Most of the time, she would only portray herself or an extended version of her Baywatch character, CJ Parker. Anderson’s focus then shifted to her activism, which included speaking adamantly against online pornography. This cause was particularly close to her experiences, particularly with the lawsuit against Penthouse’s Bob Guccione. She was also an advocate for the promotion of animal welfare and conservation, as well as raising people’s awareness of AIDS and HIV.

On the other hand, Lee has also been in numerous engagements, eventually ending up with Vine star Brittany Furlan. Continuing his music career, the Mötley Crüe drummer founded two other bands, Methods of Mayhem and Rock Star Supernova, while collaborating with other artists, such as Nine Inch Nails and Rob Zombie. He also appeared in television shows, like Tommy Lee Goes to College, Battleground Earth, and The Goldbergs, and the musical horror podcast called Halloween in Hell. Lee remained in contact with Anderson over the years, especially as they co-parented their two sons together. On several occasions after their divorce, Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson had called each other the “love of their lives,” proving that while tumultuous, the relationship of Pam & Tommy was pure and genuine at some point.
