Kelly may have been one of the most hardworking people on My 600-lb Life. A testament to this would be how well she lost weight and was not wholly immobile at her peak weight of 725 lbs. According to Distractify, Kelly got admitted into the program, adhered strictly to the regulations, and lost 220 lbs independently. Luckily for Kelly, she was approved to have weight loss surgery. After the surgery, Kelly lost another 100 lbs, which brought her weight down to 383 lbs.

Despite her best efforts, Kelly lost her life while her season of My 600-lb Life was still airing. Kelly had several underlying issues, such as type II diabetes, high blood pressure, arthritis, thyroid issues, a blood clot in her leg, a pulmonary embolism, and heart problems. She passed away a few days before her forty-second birthday in her sleep from cardiac arrest in February 2019. Dr. Now was affected by her passing, noting that her death was not due to her relapsing back into her previous eating habits but from the damage her weight had done to her heart.

Kelly is one of two people who have died while on the show, as Coliesa McMillian passed away after surgical complications. Nonetheless, her obituary received a lot of support and love from her My 600-lb Life family. Fans are hoping those who suffer from Kelly's same health issues will seek the help they need before it's too late.
